The Oklalioma Farmer, says of
Choctaw City, they nr, doing an
in,menseshipping out of cotton,
corn, wheat fruit and hops, being
located in the heart of a rich and
fertile country. The farmers for
the past seven years have put
their shoulder to the wheel in the
development of the rich lands and
they have been rewarded in hav-
ing adundance of cotton, cm and
fruit, and plenty of feed for stock.
The lands around this town will
produce almost anything and the
Active farmers are the ones who
are independent. Choctaw is lo-
cated on the hillside and many
picturesque scenes are noticeable
of the surrounding country. Near-
ly every line of business is repre-
sented and the merchants are in
good financial shape owing to the
immense trade they capture from
the surrounding country. They
have a cotton pin flouring mill
good churches and schools. If
you are looking up a location for
business, don’t fail to visit thi-

A ^vierar Rumor.
Fur several days since the cleat!
of Harry St.John there Inis been i
rumor floating around among the
people who are generally suspicious
and perhaps also superstieiotis, that
Harry St,John is not dead. <>(
course the rumor has not the slight-
,- t foundation in truth but was star-
ted by some very imaginative am!
suspicious person who thought it
strange and unusual that a man who
was indicted for murder and was so
soon to ho brought to trial should so
suddenly he stricken with death.
Their suspicious nature made it
possible for them to beleivc that a
number of reputable persons would
take part in ho collossal a fraud as
it would be to aid a prisoner to es-
cape punishment.
Some have even hinted that Dr.
Monroney who attended St.John is
a hypnotist nr mesmerist and could
have put St,John in n cataleptic
state and no'one could have told
whether he wav dead or not. How-
ever, all of these rumors are false
and without foundation.
Mr. Burnell aud others were out
called upon St,John whim he was at
his worst and they and the underta-
ker who prepared the body for bur
ial know that the rumor is redicu-
