NOTICE.
Some seem to have the idea that
the four and a half mill extra levy
asked by the school board is in ad-
dition to the extra levy of three mills
voted last year. This is a misunder-
standing. Unfortunately, these elec-
tions must be held every year for the
expenses of the coming school year.
So this year's excess levy has noth-
ing to do with that voted last year
which was for the past year only.

FACTS AS TO WHY A MKMBKK OK
THE BOARD OF EDUCATION IS
EIOHTINO THE EXTRA LEVY.
This member was in favor of the
levy, in fact, he advocated an extra
5 mill levy instead of 4V£ until a va-
cancy occurred on tlie board when
Mr. W. B. Taylor moved out of the
sixth ward. At the same meeting
when some of the Board talked in
favor of electing another member,
this opposing member made the
statement that if we elected a mem-
ber that night to nil the vacancy he
would fight us in the levy. The va-
cancy was filled, hence the fight ac-
cording to his own statement. This
member was at the meeting of the
board held in the city hall and knew
that the estimate was to be made that
night, but said member got up and
left (or absented himself) before that
part of the work was reached.

A TWICE-TOLD TALK
One of Interest to Our Readers.
Good news bears repeating, and
when it is confirmed after a long
apse of time, even if we hesitated to
believe it at first hearing, we feel se-
ure in accepting its truth now. The
following experience of a Shawnee
woman is confirmed after one year.
Mrs. Jessie Guilliums. 221 S. Penn-
sylvania Ave., Shawnee, says: "1, as
well as others in my home, have tak-
en Doan's Kidney Pills r. ith fine re-
sults. They are a cure for kidney
and bladder trouble and we are al-
ways pleased to recommend them."
Confirmed Proof.

There is no better kidney medicine
