Anniversary Is
Celebrated Friday

OKARCHE, Sept. 21—To honor
Mrs. Fred C. Peters on her birth-
day anniversary, a group of rela-
tives and friends gathered Friday
evening at the Peters home to
celebrate the occasion. Those pres-
ent with Mr. and Mrs. Peters and
their family were Mr. and Mrs.
F. H. Froeming and Mr. and Mrs.
Adolph Froeming and family of
Fairmont, Mr. and Mrs. Martin
Oraumann and daughter of Gran-
ite. Wilfred Peters of Holdenville.
George Constein of'Hinton, Rev.
and Mrs. Paul Hoycr. Mr. and Mrs.
A. H. Bierbaum and sons, Mr. and
Mrs. B. J. Dubberstein, Mr. D.
ZumMallen, Mr. and Mrs. Dick R.
ZumMallen and family, Mr. and
Mrs.. W. J. Peters and sons, Mr. and

cards and games and refreshments
were served. The honoree received
a number of gilts.

a successful rummage sale Satur-

Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Blehm of
Hitchcock are the parents of u son
weighing seven pounds and seven
ounces, bom Thursday. Sept. 14.
at the Okarche Memorial hospital.
Mrs. Blehm and the child were
dismissed Monday.
Mi. and Mrs. George Constein,
Hinton, have announced the birth
of a son Friday, Sept. 15. at the
Okarche hospital. The baby weighed
eight pounds and four ounces and
has been named David Oeorge.
Mrs. Constein is the former Miss
Viola Peters, daughtei of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Peteis of Okarche.
A son, Joe Arnold, weighing six
pounds and 14 ounces, was born
Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Okarche
hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Pam-
men of El Reno are the parents.
Mr and Mrs. Bob Marsden of
El Reno are the parents of a son
born Monday. Sept. 18, at the
Okarche hospital. The baby weighed
eight pounds and six ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Davis, Okar-
che, have announced the birth of
a son born Monday, Sept. 18. at
the Okarche hospital. The baby
weighed seven pounds and three
ounces.
Richard Gipner, 10-month-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gip-
ner, Geary, was admitted Wednes-
day morning for surgery at the
Okarche hospitAl.
Billy Walta, Kingfisher, who was
a medical patient at Okarche hos-
pital for several days, was dismissed
Wednesday.
Russel Kltson, Geary, was ad-
mitted Thursday tc the Okarche
hospital for surgery.
Miss Faye Edwards, Calumet,
was dismissed Thursday from Okar-
che hospital. She had been a medi-
cal patient for six days.
Mr. Floyd Slade of El Reno was
admitted Friday to Okarche hos-
pital for medical treatment.
Mrs. Pearlie Townsend, Calumet,
entered Okarche hospital Friday
for medical treatment.
Mrs. Gloria Tasso of Kingfisher
entered Okarche hospital Saturday
for medical treatment.
Mrs. Dorothy Sellers, El Reno,
was dismissed Saturday from Okar-
che hospital. Site entered Sept. 11
for surgery.
Mrs. Robert L. Ratliff, St. Fran-
cis, Kan., was dismissed Saturday
from Okarche hospital. Her daugh-
ter, Martha Irene, born Sept. 12,
remained at tire hospital for fur-
ther care.
Mrs. Lucille Kastl of Yukon was
admitted Sunday to Okarche hos-
pital for medical treatment.
Dwight Long of Kingfisher was
admitted Monday to Okarche hos-
pital for medical treatment.
Mrs. Pearl O'Neal of Geary was
dismissed Monday from Okarche
hospital. She was admitted Sept.
8 for surgery.
Mrs. Orna Brown, who entered
for surgery Sept. 9, was dismissed
Monday from Okarche hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laub. Calu-
met, are the parents of a daughter,
Martha Rose, born Tuesday. Sept.
19, at the Okarche hospital. The
baby weighed nine pounds and one
ounce.
Mrs. Emma Hamll of Loyal was
admitted Monday evening to the
hospital for medical care.

Bi-Lingual Parrot
Vies With Canaries
JAMESTOWN, N. Y, Sept. 21—
(U.R)—Mrs. Eva LaCroix owns a bi-
lingual parrot. 17 red canaries and
some 200 other birds. Mrs. La-
Croix is manager of a i>ird club.
Pat, the bi-lingual parrot, is the
crowd - teaser of Mrs. LaCroix's
collection. Pat has an extensive
Spanish and English vocabulary.
He recites nursery rhymes, snores
like a human, coughs, rings a bell
and whistles at girls.
Tlie prize red canaries are almost
worth their weight in gold. They
are a cross-breed of Venezuelan
canaries and a bright red South
African bird. Each is valued at
$100 tc $175.
