Previously. Mr. Truman's no-strike

indicating tliat the government,

In addition, there liad been some
speculation that the administration
might already have w'orked out some ,
formula satisfactory to Lewis.
‘The urgent question, unanswered j
by the president, was whether »the
government had reversed itself and |
agreed to reopen its existing wage i

Lewis was satisfied that the gov-

BY UNITED PRESS
Alf M. Landon, former governor
of Kansas and the 1936 Republican

today tliat Oklahom was the like-

He predicted that Olney Flynn, i j

a lot of people."
"He may win," Landon said. "If
he does, this will be the biggest
political upset of the election in

Johnson Replies
Til Johnson, radio director for the

to Landon’s statement tliat Okla-
