Calumet Slates
Basketball Week
It is rumored that some in Calu-
met arc thinking about designating
the period Dec. 12-16 inclusive,
basketball week. Highschool and
junior high teams will clash with
12 opponents in the five days.
Coach Jesse Urton today an-
nounced that on Monday junior
high boys and girls will tangle
with Yukon there as will high-
school "B” teams; Tuesday the
highschool boys will meet Holy
Trinity from Okarche; Wednesday
night Geary Junior highschool
boys and girls will come to Calu-
met; Thurday night it will be the
Geary highschool boys and girls;
and Friday night, Calumet boys
and girls will meet East Walnut
teams there.
A game scheduled Monday Dec.
19, with Piedmont teams there
must be rescheduled because of a
grade school Christmas play at
Calumet. However, Dec. 20 high-
school games are scheduled at
Yukon; and on Dec. 22, Sacred
Heart boys from here, and Dell
City girls will go to Calumet for
tussles.
4-H Group Leaves
For State Meet
Eight county 4-H club members,
six girls and two boys, left El Reno
early today for Woodward where
they will attend a state recreation
leadership tarining school under
way there.

Home Demonstration Agent Veda
Fae Sears, the group included Gar-
mon Gregory, Judy Kroeker, Gin-
ger Brown of the Union City club;
Sharon Grass, Calumet member; >
Linda Eichor, Yukon; and Billy
Jeffreys, Barbara Lorenzen and
Ruth Ann Halacka, all El Reno Hi |
club workers.
The meeting is scheduled to last
today and Thursday with the coun-!
ty group due back Thursday night.

On Birthdays
RICHLAND, Dec. 7-Mr. and
Mrs. Derold Miller entertained
Sunday with a birthday dinner and
party, honoring their sons, Gary
and Mike, on their ninth and eighth
birthdays.
Guests were Sharon Havcrly, De-
anna Stepp, Ellaine Miller, David
and Teddy Griffin, and Douglas
and Bruce Driver.
Mr. and Mrs. Verne Wilkerson
and daughter, Patsy of Corpus
Christi, Tex., and Mr. and Mrs.
James Miller of Okmulgee have
returned to their homes following
a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Sanford
Miller and Gordon.
The teen-age class of the Richland
Nazarene church was entertained
Thursday evening with a cabin
party at Maple Grove, given by
their teacher, Deraid Miller.
Attending were Georgia and
Rosemary Ruzicka, Eileen and
Lois Austin, Judy Haverly, Glen
and Don Griffin, Doris Jane Estep,
Marvelena Brooks, Rev. and Mrs.
Glen Baily and son, Johnny, Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Haverly and Mrs.
Deraid Miller.
Judy Haverly was among those
of the Yukon Music club who en-
joyed a wiener roast Monday even-
ing at Maple Grove.
Betty Austin and Judy Haverly
attended the Oklahoma City Sym-
phony Sunday afternoon.
Miss Nancy'Clovis spent Sunday
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Luther Clovis.

Mrs. Clarence Fletcher of La
Habra Heights, Calif., is the house-
guest of her sister, Miss Rose
Witcher, 715 South Barker, and
is visiting with Mrs. Ruitcr Shut-
tee, 805 South Hoff, and other

GOSHEN, Ind. -M—1Traffic vio-
lators going the wrong way on one-
way streets were released without
being fined or even reprimanded.
Police said pranksters had revers-
ed the signs by unbolting the
heads and bolting them back on
the wrong side of the sign posts.
