G A. R. IN POLITICS.
An old crank by the name of
Seeley who is and always has
been a source of annoyance to
whatever organization be hap-
pens to belong, went to the con-
vention hall at Guthrie, tilted his
chair back and put his feet upon
the railing. President Murray
sent a messenger and requested
him to take his feet down as it is
against the rules. Seeley told the
messenger to tell the copperhead
who presided to go to li-,
whereupon two officers carried
the old codger from the room.
The Republican press which a
year ago was abusing Seeley as
a mugwump are now trying to
make political capital out of the
incident because Seeley was a
federal soldier. The Chandler

We have heard the Prague
Patriot classed as a Democratic
paper. The Patriot always has
been a free lance edited by an
old crank who lives in Pott court

family who did as much for the Democratic committee meeting
or in any way identified himself
with the Democratic party.
There are just three Democratic
papers in Lincoln county, the
Chandler Tribune, the Sroud
Star and tlie Carney Enterprise.
The Davenport Leader is friend-
ly and its editor is a bright
young Democrat.

renegades who use the organiza-

Seeley was not ejected because
he had been a soldier. It was
because be was abusive, insult
