Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Allen living in
Union township had the misfortune
to loo.-- their kitchen by fire early
Wear,i-day morning- Sparks fron
the flue started a fire overhead. This
room being about eight feet from the
main part of the house they were
able by the heroic help of their neigh-
bors to save the main building but
lost everything in the kitchen. They
were in town Wednesday afternoon
to get a new supply of kitchen uten-
sils and groceries.

in our city Tuesday.

Rev. W. F. Farrar who has been
sick with gripp for two weeks is able
to go to the country to preach.
P. G. Rawdon accompanied by
photographer C. X. Hopkins are in
the northwest part of the county this
week. Supt. Rawdon is visiting the
schools and Mr. Hopkins is taking
pictures of the schools to adorn the
wall- of the superintendent's office.
The W. C. T. U. held a very inter-
esting meeting with Mrs. Y6 ■ H.
Hicks Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. L. 1>. Gray returned Monday
from a visit with friends at Musko-
gee.
We have been asked several limes
this week if we had joined the auto-
mobile party and was building a gar-
age, but we will have to admit that
it is only a chicken house. Of course
if the price of eggs slays up and the
chickens do real well we may realize
enough to buy the auto soon.
Miss Ravo Holland of Cushing vis-

J. C. Burton was over from Stroud
Thursday attending a meeting called
by the Robertson club.
Miss Georgia Wilkshir; who has

the Matron's embroidery club at her
home on west 8th street last Thurs-
day afternoon. The aftrenoon was
spent with needle work and dainty re-
freshments were served. Several

town guest was Mrs. J. B. Spence of
North Carolina, who is here visiting
her parents Mr. and Mrs. C. 0. Wil-
son.

visit friends here for a w-hile.
Jack Shaffer our genial bus man,
is attending to business in St. Louis
this week.
Mrs. P. F. Sennett returned from
Hot Springs, Ark., last Friday where
she had spent the most of the win-
ter. Mrs. Sennett was unfortunate
some sneakthief stole her rings and
over $15 in money while she was
uway.
Last week was moving week, Mr.
and Mtb. Joe Barker moved to the
property they recently purchased of
Joe Eagleston, Mr. and Mrs. Eagles-
ton will occupy the Wray property
vacated by Mrs. McKim. Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert Waldrop moved to their
property purchased of Mrs. Ella
Beeknell, Mr. and Mrs. Corlyn Little
moved to the Mel Shaffer property.

ter from Jesse J. Dunn that he has
formed a la wpartnership with the
firm name Dunn, White & Aiken
with offices on sixth floor Syndicate
building, Oakland, California. He
wants all his Oklahoma friends to
keep in touch with him, that he may
be of benefit to them in 1915.
