Those who attended the County
Sunday school convention at
Chandler reported a nice time
and that the convention was a
great success.
The School Land Meetings in
Lincoln County are attracting
state wide notice.
It seems good to get down to
good solid work after a two
weeks vacation in the mountains.
The State Democratic Conven-
tion should unqualifiedly endorse
the state agency and prohibition.
Elect Henry Johnson to Con-
gress and he will not attend bail
games when matters of great im-
portance are before Congress for
consideration.
For the first time in the history
of Oklahoma the rail roads will
pay their just proportion of taxes
this year. No wonder some-
body did not like the Constitu-
tion.
Taft wanted the people of Ok
lahoma to turn the Constitution
down. His advice failed to be
headed by 100000 majority. Mr.
Taft can estimate his strength
in Oklahoma on that basis.
Henry Johnson is one of the
most able men in the State. As
President of the Senate of the
first State Legislature he per-
formed prodigious tasks. For
years he has been a leader in the
educational campaign to sell the
school lands.
Dennis Flynn— Railroad Den-
nis—wants to break into the
United States Senate to assist
his Railroad pals who are great-
ly endangered by reform. Of
course Oklahoma is anxious to
seat another Railroad Senator,
we don’t think.
The State Agency system has
proven a success and not a sin
gle instance has been recorded
where whiskey has been sold ex
cept for strictly medical pur-
poses on the perscription of a
doctor and affidavit of the pur-
chaser. It is the most perfect
system ever invented to help en-
force prohibition without des
tro.ying the medical science.
There is no excuse for violating
the prohibitory law and no
premium is placed on perjury.
The republican platform
charges the democrats with not
publishing the laws passed by
the last legislature. They did
not tell you that a republican
print shop (The Guthrie State
Registe,) has got the job of do-
ing the printing under a con-
tract to have it done in forty-five
days from June 2tith; and that
the oooks are promised by this
republican shop this week.
They did not tell you that this
volume of session laws covering
one hundred and sixty days
work, is three times as big as
the last volume of Oklahoma
Territory session laws, which it
took one hundred and twenty-
seven days to print, nor did they
tell you that the democratic ad
ministration got this book print

than fifty cents a copy, ' lien the

HASKELL S PLEDGE
During the primary and
i. t'neral election campaign of a
year ago, Haskell spoke in more
loan the hundred and fifteen
ciil;- rc.it communities in Oklaliu-
ballot box or I will lick them
every time they come near the
Governor’s office.”
Now, reader, ain’t that the ex-
act substance of what Haskell
said?
Rememder that, Fifty Dollars
in gold in the Tribune office has
been offered for weeks if Haskell
has not carried out the above
pledge to the letter, or if he
should fail in the future to carry
it out, the fifty dollars in gold is
ready for the man who will show
Haskell failed to keep this
pledge.-New State Tribune.

esting ineeeting at the Court

The exact nature of her death is |
not known.
Wincie was born at Benton

1892 and died in Sapulpa, Okla-
homa, August 21, 1908. She was
a member of the Christian church
since twelve years of age. She
had attended school here for
several years and was loved by
teachers and classmates.
The funeral was held at the
home of Dave Ward Saturday

DO NOT FALTER
The meeting of the Central
Committee of the School Land
Organization to be held next
Saturday is one of vast im-
portance to Lincoln county and !
Oklaho ma.
We have made enough noise to!
attract the attention of the entire
state and we must now "make!
good” or we will do the cause ir-
reparable damage. The state i>
looking to Lincoln county to lead
the tight and we believe tb it Lin-
coln County will arise to the occa i
sion. We have the most active i
and earnest men in both parties
enlisted .n the fight and we
hope they i\ ill not become so in-
terested in partisan qui stions as
to o get this question.
Everyone who believes in the !
sale of school land should “get
busy.” The other fellows are
and are circulating matter in
vast quantities calculated to pre
judice the voters against the!
sale. Do not falter but go into
the tight to win. It is a just
right and one in which good1
citizenship is petted against a
degrading system. Lincoln
County does not wish to have
fastened upon then 3000 state
slaves or a system that will rum
the home prospects of bob!
families. That is exactly what,
it will mean to allow referendum j
petition No. 1 to be defeated.
