Where Quality Reigns
Lone Wolf
Oklahoma
A little over eighteen months
ago Mr. T. J. St. John arrived
i in Lone Wolf a complete
stranger, and stated the
Restaurant and Bakery bearing
his name, now or.e of the mo*t
! noted features of our town We
i venture to say, the St. John
Restaurant and Bakery has a
reputation, not only here now,
but throughout this section of
the state, that haa' hardly a
rival. Especially is th s the case
as regards bakery department.
Mr. St. John ships bread to three
neighboring towns and haa calls
from several other places, but
his time is so taken up he can't
comply with these requests
His bakery, by the way, is the
best equipped and up-to-date of
its kind that can be found out-
side the larger cities, and the
same may be said of his restau-
rant. Strangers coming here
these days are surprised at the
excellence of the bill of fare,
cookery and service Mr. St.
John can offer them in a modest
little town like ours. He most
assuredly has worked wonders
in his line since his arrival
a ong, us and in so short a time
too. He owes a large part of his
success to his estimable son,
who manages the bakery depart-
ment for him. There’s no better
young man anywhere, and he
has no superior in his trade, as
the demand for his products
proves. But his health has
suffered rather seriously from the
pressure of work necessarily
imposed upon him and constant-
ly increasing. His father has
come to the conclusion that
there must be a change in 'his
case, and that without much
delay. Hence Mr. St. John, we
understand, has resolved to
dispose of his business here and

give his boy a rest and op-
portunity in other scenes and
aurroundinga to regain his
former vigor. The doctor con-
sulted in the case insists upon
tihs, too.
Heie is a fine char.cc for some
one. We don’t know what Mr.
St. John intends to ask for his
property, good will %nd fixtures
but we do know how It
has been paving for the past
six months. We had a sight of
the deposit slips issued to Mr.
St. John by his bank for each
of these months, and were more
than surprised. The May de
posit $960.45, June $314 65; July
321.35; August $394 05; Septem-
ber $396.96; October $582,70.
This showing gives the very-
satisfactory monthly average
1 deposit of $395 02, which ex-
presses the net protit of the
business, with the exception of
the amount paid for flour. All
other expenses are met and
provided for before any cash
finds it way to the bank. Up to
the 15th of this month $230.61
has been added to the credit of
th? St. John bank account.
We believe this statement of
the St. John Restaurant and
Bikery standing, will be as great
a surprise to many of our people
aa it has been to us. But when
one enters the St. John dining
room and sees the neatness and
attractiveness of its appoint-
ments. and better still, if one
order a meal and partake of it,
it is easy to understand why this
place of entertainment is so
popular and prosperous. And
could one get a peep into the
kitchen, ils equipment for ex-
cellent cookery-service will ex-
plain why the dishes sent to the
table are ao delicious and ay-
petizing.
There is no question but Lone
Wolf will be sorry to part with
Mr. and Mrs St. John and their
son. During their brief stay
with us they have helped our
town greatly by their enter-
prise and the fine service they
rendered the public in their
useful calling. We bope t it
whoever succeeds them wll* !>e
filled with their spirit, and
we hope too that they will
receive adequate compensation
for the fine business they have
so marvelously created in a few
short months.
Now in conclusion we wish to
say that this is a rare oppor
tunity for any one inclined to go
into the bakery and restaurant
business. You cannot buy a
location such as Mr. St. John is
offering you any day in the year.
If you are interested write him
at Lone Wolf and we are sure
he will willing answer any
questions in regard to the
business, or better still come
and see for yourself.
