The sixty cars loaded with the
products of (lie Minneapolis
Threshing Machine Co., of Hop-
kins, Minnesota, will reach
Wichita tomorrow. Mr Davies,
territorial manager, left El Heno
yesterday to he present when the
immense shipment arrives.
On 'Wednesday 15 of the cars
will tie at El Reno, where Mr.
Davies makes his headquarters.
This is the largest shipment at
any one time of farm machinery
ever received at this point. El
Reno is tlie great distributing
point for these wonderful thresh-
ers, and territorial manager
Davies is leaving no stone un-
turned in his efforts to make El
Reno tlie great distributing point
for these goods, and his company
is standing by him and seconding
every effort put forth. Such
trade items merit special mention.

ger lias a badly powder-burned
face, and his parents, Mr. und
Mrs. Gus Burger, of N. Hoff av-
enue are mighty glad he’s alive.
Monday afternoon lie and hijs 7-
year-old brother, Charley, were
playing with an empty 38-calibre
revolver. in looking around
Chester found a cartridge and
gave it to Charley. It was just
tlie right size and the wild west
show went on, until suddenly tlie
gun went oil close to Chester’s
head. 'Hie bail only missed the
boy about an inch, but tlie pow-
der burns cover his entire face.

enthusiasm prevailed. The meet
ing was called to order by E. T.
Barbour, who stated tlie object of
the convention, namely: to select
delegates to attend tlie convention
of the colored voters of tlie terri-
tory which will be held at Oklu-
iioma Git.\ in June, at which time
the Negro Territorial Republican
League Mill be organized. Stir-
ring speeches were made by a
number of those present, the
I rend of thought being that inas-
much us the negro voter is a de-
sirable factor in territorial poli-
tics, lie certainly should be con-
sidered in tlie matter of official
position. The Republican party
" ill be asked to do tlie right
thing in tlie way of distributing
the various nominations, if the
colored voters elsewhere are as
much in earnest as those in this
county tile grand old party will
have a sure miff elephant on their
hands.
