Birthday Surprise-
Our esteemed fellow citizen and old
friend Millie Parnell of I’ayson was
| just 44 years old last Thursday night,
j a fact his many friends of south Lin-
coln county took cognizance of by
tendering him a supper in the town
hall at Payson much to Billie’s sur-
prise and his friends’evident pleasure.
* Billie was inveigled away from
home about 7 p. m. Thursday evening
ostensibly to visit a friend but was
escorted over to the hall where more
than forty of the old timers were on
hand to extend him congratulations
and wish him many more years of
success and happiness. An elaborate
supper was served about 8 o’clock for
over forty guests with Billie as guest
of honor. o

The Athenians.
The Athenian club met yesterday
afternoon with Mrs. A. E. Mascho. As
is usual with this enthusiastic young
club the attendance was very nearly
full and the program was carried out
■with much spirit.
All members were present except
Mrs. Cravens, who was not well
Roll call was responded to with
current events. A select reading by
Mrs. Robertson wes a very pleasing
number of the program.
Two interesting papers were read:
“American Inventors,” Mrs. Brasel-
ton; ‘‘American Inventions,” Mrs.
Rogers. The reading of the papers
was followed by an animated discus-
sion of the sbujects which seemed to
be inexhaustible.
Mrs.Underhill asquestloner brought
out many interesting facts.
Parliamentary practice was as usual
an important feature of the afternoon.
Mrs. A. E. Mascho was elected vice
president, Mrs. E H. Miles having
resigned, and Mrs. .1 W. Lewis was
chosen critic for the ensuing two
months.
The room proffered by Mrs. 1). N.
-Frasier to the clubs of the city to be
used for library purposes was grate- j
fully accepted and Mesdames »V. A
Braselton and J. M. Rogers were
chosen members of the board to co-
operate with those from the Round
Table club in its management.

Hearts
Are due to indigestion. Ninety-nine of erery
one hundred people who have heart trouble
can remember when it was simple Indiges-
tion. It is a scientific fact that all cases of
leart disease, not organic, are not only
‘raceable to. but are the direct result of Indi-
gestion. All food taken into the stomach
-hich fails of perfect digestion ferments and
swells the stomach, puffing it up against the
heart. This interferes with the action of
the heart, and in the course of time that
delicate but vital organ beoomes'diseased.
