J. F. Todd came up yesterday from
Oklahoma City where he had been for
ten days at the bedside of his wife who
underwent an operation at the hospital
there for removal of ovarian tuwo’v
She is getting along as well ns could
be expected, notwithstanding the fact
that the physicians found ths tumor
to be much worse than they expected,
branches of it having extendod to the
spine and others interlacing the in-
testines. She is Dr. Marshall’s
patient and he accompanied her to the
hospital where Dr. Kolater performed
the operation.

The Ladies’ Aid of tlie Christian
church met Wednesday afternoon,
March 8, at the home of Mrs. E. H
Miles to complete plans for the St,
Patrick’s lunch. Scripture was read
by the president, Mrs. H. G. Downey,
after which the Lord’s prayer was
repeated Some nice selections of
music were furnished by Mrs. Miles
and Mrs. Higby. Refreshments were
served by Mrs Miles and sister con-
sisting of coffee, wafers, pickles and
cake. A very pleasant afteraoon was
spent. The society adjourned to meet
at Mrs. Downey’s March 15.

CRITZ’S FIRE.
Daniel Critz.an old man living near
Kendrick, is said to have let a fire of
his starting get beyond his control,
resulting in damage to the chattels of
his neighbor, E. Givens. Mr. Givens
swore cAit a complaint, so Deputy Tom
Henderson had the pleasure of enter-
taining Mr. Critz until his bail could
be adjusted. The amount, $200, was
obtained, and Critz went home to
await his hearing which will take
place March 23, 10 a. m.

Henry W. Scott was detained by the
chief of police of Oklahoma City until
Deputy Crume could reaeli there with
a bench warrant issued October 12,
based upon an indictment by the Oc-
tober grand jury for “obtaining a sig-
nature to a w ritten instrument. ” Bond
was furnished in the sum of $1,000 to
