A pretty party was given last
evening at the home of Miss Edna
Kelly, when Mmes. LeRoy Jones,
John Towusend, Godfrey Shackel-
ford, tlt - Misses Louise Gerrer aud
Edna *vally entertained the Mati-
nee Girls their husbands and sweet-
hearts. The rooms were decorated
with vases of lilacs and daiuty
score cards were given the guests,
who enjoyed an hour of auction. Mrs
Jack Smiley and Mr. Fred Gilette
were given favors. A. delectable
three course luncheon was served
the players who were Messrs and
Mines.. Jack Smiley, Karl Humph-
rey, Godfrey Shackelford t P. P.
Duffy, LeRoy Jones, John Towusend
the Misses Louise Gerrer, Edna Kelly
and Edith Miller of Oklahoma
City and Messrs. Fred Gillet/te, Dave
Shackelford, Peter Pinkerton and
E. P. Kelly.
Mrs. J. M. Harkin aud Mrs.
Henry Hleistine entertained last ev-
ening with a miscellaneous shower
honoring Miss Josephine 8end l
bach, whose marriage to Mr. Fred
Marshall, is an event of May lird. A
wagon, emblematic of the journey
through life, drawn by two cupids
driven by Mary Jane Sendelbach, the
little sister of the bride to be, con-
veyed the many beautiful presents
to Miss Sendelbach at her station in
a booth of hearts. A heart book was
passed among it he guests, who wrote
therein their favorite receipes. A
delicious two course luncheon was
served to forty guests. Miss Ksther
Voegeli of Oklahoma City( a cousin
of the honoree was an out of town
guest.
Mrs. Lillie Hall and daughter, Mrs
Gladner Barnard, are Oklahoma City
visitors today.
Mr and Mrs Barney Stewart are
moving into their new home on S.
Hoff.
Mrs. L. H. Stephens and Mrs. 8.
C. Timmons, of Aline, Oklahoma,
accompanied the girls' basket ball
team of that city to El Keno, yes-
terday, and visited friends while
here.

was operated on Thursday morning
for appendicitis is getting along

The many friends of Miss Mildred
Shaughnessey are delighted to
know that she scored firwt In vocal
in the district contest, comprising
nine states, held at Memphis yes-
terday. Miss Shaughnessey carried
the Oklahoma honors to the contest
and her success entitles her to
carry honors from nine southern
states to the national contesit to be
held in l-os Angeles in June. She
was an easy winner over many vo-
calists of note, which is not sur-
prising to her Oklahoma admirers^
who predict for her success in the
national contest.
