CITY AFFAIRS AIRED.
We publish in another column
a full report of the meeting held
last night at the opera house, at
which the republican candidates
outlined the issues in the prest
entcity campaign. We do_thre
not because weare espousing the
cause of the republican party,
but for the purpose of giving our
readers the fullest information
possible upon the questions be-
fore the voters at the approach-
ing election. This is the policy
which the Publicist has uniform
ly phrsued in city matters. When
the question of voting bonds lor
the water works was before tlie
people, the Publicist was the on-
ly pajier which opened its col-
umns for a full discussion of the
subject from all sides. While the
other papers of the town chose
to dub us “knockers" because
we did this, we have received too
much commendation from the
citizens of Chandler for liu\ ing
given them the information no
where else obtainable to feel j
squelched by the appellation. As
in the* past, so in this campaign
wc invite the fullest and freeest
discussion of all topics before the
people. Our columns are open,
not for abuse and oulumny, but,
for facts bearing upon all sides
of the questions at issue. There;
are good men upon each of the
three tickets before the people.
We believe that a wise selection
of officers will be made by our]
cilizens, and we further believe]
that that choice will be more in-
telligently made because of
bringing to light all facts that
we can obtain.

ning order and is enjoying a line
trade .. .The buiiding of the big Mam-
mouth store is now complete, and they
are loading the shelves with fine

the town to work the roads leading to
the town so the farmers could get here.
....... Mr. Barker, the man who had
charge of the hotel here the last year,
has sold out, and with his family will
leave for his old home at Clinton, Mo.
Tuesday. We are sorry to see Mr.
Barker leave as he has won many
friends here. We wish him success .

the past few years and thinks the Tex-
as air will be beneficial to him......

‘T can heartily snd conscientiously
recommend Chamberlain’s Cougli
Remedy for affections of the throat
and lungs,” says Hon. John Shenick,
220 South Peoria St., Chicago. “Two
years ago during a political cam-
paign I caught cold after being over-
heated which irritated my throat and
I was finally compelled to stop, as I
could not speak aloud. In my jx-
tremity a friend advised me to use
Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy. I
took two dose this afternoon and
could not believe uiy senses when I
found the next morning the inflama-
tion had largely subsided. I took
several doses that day, kept right on
talking through the campaign and I
thank this medicide that I won my
seat in the council. The remedy is
for sale by A. D.^Wright.

and is the synonym for
strength mid purity. It is sold

If the cod lisli became extinct
it would be a world-wide calam-
ity, because the oil that comes
from its liver surpasses all other

properties. Thirty years ago
t he proprietors of Scott’s Emul-

cod liver oil so that everyone can
take it and get the full value of
the oil without the objection able
