CALL TO OKLAHOMA FOR OPERATORS
Youug men who have been experimenting with wireless are
to have an opportunity to serve their country. The war <le
partment has asked l ^, all amateur operators in the state who
have any knowledge of operating communicate with I. W W.
Morrow of the school of engineering at the University ol Okla
homa, Norman, giving the amount ol experience they have had
The demand for wireless men is immense, both for the reg
ular army and navy and for the new merchant marine. Many
who cannot qualify for positions in the navy will find places
waiting for them on Merchant ships
SAVE POTATO CROP
Every bushel of this year's potato crop must be saved. No
iubor should be spared in an effort to dig at the proper time and
store properly for winter use enough for tin' nerds ol the I a mil y
Preparations should be made at once lo raise a second crop il
the season proves favorable,-and seed mi st be saved for

EACH FAMILY SELF SUPPORTING
Not only high prices but actual scarcity of foods that will
make many articles impossible to obtain at any price makes it
imperative that evary faiiiily provide now to assumt Ihe task of
providing food for its own table.
Few people realize the tremendous importance of the hen
to the Oklahoma household. Fvery keeper of a Hock of chick
ens should plan to keep a larger flock pext year, both from
patriotic and business motives. II sale of some bens is neces
sary. an attemdt should be made to place them in the commun-
ity rather than with the butcher.
Early plowing makes better wheat.
GET COAL SUPPLY NOW
Even the sma.l user of coal should lay in his supply for
winter dow. The time will come soon when every available
car may be needed to transdort munitions to the coasts ft
may be impossible to get coal at auy price in five months.
THE C ALL TO COLLEGE
During this war and following it there will be such a short
age ot college trained men and women as has never before been
known. Federal authorities are urging that young men and
women be kept in colleges and universities until their seivii.es
are absolutely necessary to national defense.
The best interests of the nation demang that that the sup-
ply of COweffe trained men and women be kept up. Europe,
with most of j,yr universities closed and with hundreds of
trained men already .'f illed in the trenches, is looking to Amer
ica for relief. And wonderful opportunities await the young
man and the young woman who are technically trained.
You can’t gather radish and lettuce and mustard seed next
December. You can do it now.

Sunday morning, July 8, at
i 1 1 o’clock we he^iu our revival

We expect to have an Evan-

We expect to make the servic-

We urge everyone that pro-

of denomination, to feel free to
come and join with us in an ef
j fort to have a real "Old Time
I RevivaI.” We hope no one will
| think of it simply as a Method

meeting is expected to continue
three weeks.
Those who believe in prayer,

I0K PHONOGRAPH PRICES
TO COMI: DOWN TO EARTH
Now’s Your Chance
The Wilson Ashland represents the Big-
gest value in Phonographs ever offered.
ihe Wilson-Ashland will he a most wel-
come addition to your home. If is a heau-
ful instrument. Stands over three feet
high. Il looks too per cent bigger value
than the $50 machines of the makers that
are keeping the price up.
It plays beautifully. Its richness and v ol-
ume of lone are unexcelled. It interprets
with marvelous exact ness the performances
of the greatest artists, just as recorded in
t he disc.
It brings into your home the same un-
limited selections of artists that an expen-
diture of $100 in a Phonograph would do.
Ii your taste is for Grand Opera, lor Classic-
al music or for Ragtime--if you like instru-
mental or vocal music or comedy the Wil-
son Ashland opens up the whole realm to
you. It duplicates the original tone, vol-
ume and sweetness in a manner worthy of
the most expensive record.
Don’t let the small price of $,?.S keep you
longer from the enjoyment of a phonograph.
No home is complete without it. It means
so much comfort and cheer and education.
Call and hear this instrument played. You
will be delighted.

Some Fine Sweet Clover
The last of the week we /*‘t
the pleasure of inspecting J
couple of small fields of sweet
clover grown by C. S. Reed on
the old Pfalzgraf farm just
north of town. Mr. Reed lias
about 8 or 10 acres of as fine
clover as we ever saw and this,
too, on ground that he consiu-
ereil too sandy for anything
else. He lias clover higher
than a man's head on blow sand
that one would think nothing
whatever would grow to any
profit. He is greatly pleased
with his experience with sweet
clover, as well lie may be, and
it is Mr. Reed's intention to cut
some of this yiar's crop for
seen1 and lo put out several
more acres, We also had an
op'portuli ity to look over some
of the improvements beiqg made
