The force of the explosion, accord-
ing In forest rangers, will do no more
harm lo the road than the melting
snows have done in the past. Repair
work on thr road lias always been
necessary.
In places where experience has
shown snowdrifts accumulate the
worst, the eordcau fuse has been aug-
mented hy charges of dynamite at 20-
foot intervals. In this manner, it Is
hoped to rid the road of 25-foot drifts
which In the past have kept in mud-
dy during Ihe greater part of the sum-
mer.
The free ends of the fuse have been
securely fastened in the tree tops at
both ends of the pass, awaiting elec-
trical connection in the spring.

The Kmployes association of the
Southwestern Rell Telephone com-
pany entertained Saturday evening
at the Eagles hall with a carnival
dance. The hall was prettily decorat
cd. and the various cHrnival attrac-
tions and side shows including the
figure 8. the whip und others wore
in evidence. About 150 guests were
in attendance. Visitors were present
from Enid. Norman, (iuthrie, Shaw
nee, Chlckashs and Okla. City. Cards -
slid dancing furnished the amuse-
ments for the evening. Punch was
served during the evening, and at
the close of the entertainment cof-
fee, cake and sandwiches were serv-
ed.

morning, and Judge Phelps adjourn-
ed court.
