spirit of magnanimity on the part of
the Indians. For them the season
was over, aside from a share in the

nothing to gain, hut with true sports-

There was no title at stake, but the

Generally Satisfactory
Winning of the state basketball
crown by Tulsa over the Classen
Comets of Oklahoma City, was gener-
ally satisfactory to caging fans of El

It been left to a vote, El Reno would
have voted unanimously for the Oil

Its sister city, nut the big town down
the North Canadian—big in size—but
small in other things went to such
extremes this year to monopolize the
caging honor of the state, that It is
very gratifynig to know that Us ef-
forts were fruitless as usual.
With great forethought Oklahoma
City arranged to place its High
School teams In various district tour-
naments. so that its chances In the
state tourney would be greatly aug-
mented. The program went through
as anticipated and the Classen and
Centrnl teams of Oklahoma City
landed in the semi-finals.
Central fell in the semifinals be-
fore the Tulsa onslaughts, and In the
finals Tulsa eliminated Clussen. and
once more the hopes of Oklahoma
City to send a team to the national
tourney at Chicago were rudely shat-
tered. It is not of record that the
Oklahoma City team had ordered now
pajamas, made their Pullman reser-
vations and attended to other de'tjls
for the Chicago trip in advance of the
final game. Such preparations have
marked previous years.
