Visit The Neighbors
Friday afternoon at Yukon, the
High School football teams of Yukon
and El Reno will clash on the Yukon
gridiron . The Yukon business estab-
lishments will close during the game
and the afternoon will bo u semi-
holiday.
That is a nice thing1 for the Yukon
merchants to do, and we know they
will be fully repaid in witnessing n
splendid contest between these two
Canadian County teams.
We may be mistaken, but it Is our
impression that El Reno and Yukon
do not do much visiting back and
forth. When we stage the county
fair, we generally go over and say
"howdy” to Yukon and Invite the
Yukouiies over to the annual exhi-
bition, aud we sort of let the visit-
ing go at that.
Now Yukon is very much a part of
Canadian County, It's a thriving city
that is growing rapidly and Is the
center of a big milling Industry. Yu-
kon is struggling for a "place In the
sun” Just as we are over here In El
when each city could assist the other
Just a little closer together.
The game Friday offers an excel-
lent opportunity for Kl Reno busi-
ness men to go over to Yukon, at-
tend the contest, get better acquaint-
ed with Yukon business men, “kid”,
them about their football team, aud
be "kidded” in return, and have a
general good time.
Then if Yukon wins, walk right
up and be the first to extend congrat-
ulations. Yukon is some town, take it
from us, but a lot of us have not
found it out yet, because our vision
has not been elevated beyond our own
city limits.
