HEWS Of THE WEEK
Brief News Items Concerning
Local People, Places
and Events.
We don’t set ourselves up Jas a dicta-
tor of public morals, dress or manners,
but when we meei a crowd oP school
girls and half of them are painted like
bawds, dressed like courtesans and be-
having like wantons, we feel that some
of the mothers of this town need some
one to give them a little advice regard-
ing their duty to their daughters. The
girls aren’t bad, theyr’e just silly and
ignorant, and they need to be told how
the world interprets their actions.

Flu again Svreading
Influenza is again menacing the coun-
try and has made its appearance in this
section. Hominy, Fairfax and KawCity
all report many cases of the plague, and
numerous cases are reported in the coun-
try districts, and there have been a few
scattering case here in the town. Every
precaution should be taken to head otf
the epidemic and prevent its reaching
the proportions it did last year.
