Relief In Asia-Minor and among the
people of the first Christian nations,
our allies in the World War.
Incorporated under Congress and
with the membership of Its executive
committee, including such men as
President Woodrow Wilson, Ex-Presi-
dent Vm. Howard Taft, Ambassador
Henry Morganthau. James Cardinal
Gibbons, Rabbi Wise, and Cleveland
H. Hodge, this organization is the only
group now working in this section of
A»ia-Minor for the relief of the perish-
ing people who have literally lighted
tho way or the v/Orld to Christianity
and civilization, and who during the
world conflict fought so valiantly and
kept lhe Turko-German army out of
the fuel fields of Baku.

engaged in the salvaging of the Ar-
menian nation and ihe rescuing from

In 1918, the American Red Cross
withdrew Its forces from the Near
East and turned not only a vast stock
of medical supplies and food but also
a portion of its personnel, to aid the
Near East Relief organization in the
success! ul accomplishment of its gi-
gantic task, in order to avoid duplica-
tion of relief effort in the field, where
out of 8,000,000 people only 2,000,000
remained.
As will be noted by the map, this
organization makes no attempt to ad-
minister to European fields—conserv-
ing its every energy to its great pro-
gram of relief administration to the
women and children of our allies
South and East of Constantinople and
the Caucasus mountain;*, where there
is no government, no crops, no houses,
no food, no clothing and ali due to
