Farewell Reception
- •
The ladies of the Methodist Aid Soci-
ety gave Mrs. O. W. Loucks a surprise
on Saturday evening, before she It ft
for their new home in Burden. Kans.
Mrs. Loucks, having made her own
plans, made it quite difficult to persuace
her to come to her own reception, but
Mrs. Carmichael, at whose home it waB
given, succeeded in so skillfully arrang-
ing matters that the company was all
present to greet her when she arrived,
and no one doubted that she was genu-
inely surprised.
There were twenty-nine present and
they spent a happy evening.
After Mrs. Loucks recovered from her
"embarrassment" she joined very hear-
tily in an impromptu program of read-
ings and songs, which brought out some
hidden talent. Refreshments of ice
cream and cake were served, after which
the Aid presented Mrs. Loucks with a
silver sa’.ad fork, as a token of apprecia-
tion for her valued services as a mem-
ber and officer in the Society, and the
love and esteem of her friends.
The company departed at a late hour,
wishing Mr. and Mrs. Loucks many
years of usefulness and happiness in
their new home.

Oklahoma's Guaranty Law
Protects "Y&ur D opeys it®
When Oklahoma enacted the DEPOSITORS’
GUARANTY LAW it sounded an advance note in
banking legislation. Since then many states have
passed laws to guarantee deposits in state banks.
Today state banks of Oklahoma are regarded as safe
as any in the world. The STATE GUARANTY FUND
holds approximately half a million dollars in cash and
convertible securities which would be used to pay off de-
positors immediately and in full in case a state bank
should fail.
The DEPOSITORS’ GUARANTY LAW also pro-
vides the machinery for raising more money from the
banks if the fund should be insufficient to pay deposit-
ors The banks are protected, too, by rigid and fre-
quent examinations by the state.
Open an account here. Have the satisfaction of
knowing that every dollar of your deposits is protected
against loss.
"No depositor haa ever lost a dollar in a state bank
in Oklahoma.
