VARIOUS RUMORS ARK IX (IB
CULATION ABOUT THE
CASE.
Miss Jessje Edington is gradually
improving at the Shawnee hospital,
and is said to have related a coher-
ent story of the happenings of the
night upon which she was assaulted,
up to the time of the assault itself.
Physically she is in good condition,
eats heartily and appears to be far
on the road to complete recovery.
There are various rumors afloat in
regard to the ca^e, some of which
doubtless have some foundation in
fact. It is known that a special
nurse employed at the hospital has
been removed upon complaint of the
county attorney, it being feared that
an unfair influence might be exetred
over the girl during her convales-
cence.
