Ogden, Utah. Dee. 28, 1911.
To Our Fellow Strike Breakers and
All Concerned:
We, the undersigned strike break-
ers, wish to let the public know of
the conditions at the shops of the
Oregon Short Line railroad located
at Ogden, Utah, and all shops
throughout the Harriman system.
We wish to state that we have been
treated as prisoners, and not as
working men trying to make a liv-
ing. Every strike breaker coming
or going on the grounds of the com-
pany are searched everything they'
have in their possession, that the
guards want, is taken from them.
We also wish to state that we
were locked up in bunk houses
which are filthy and not fit for hu-
man habitation. There is from forty
to fifty men sleeping in each bunk
house, which has no ventilation.
There is only one cup for all these
men to drink from. The linen on
the beds,, during our three weeks
employment was not changed. The
officials of this company are so
cheap that if a man wishes to go
to another town to do his shopping,
he is charged for his fare the same
as any other person not an employe.
They do not want the men to go
into the city of Ogden to do their
shopping as they fear the union will
persuade them to leave the employe
of the company. We have a co.i-
tract calling for a period of ninety
days and the company does not live
up to its contract. The company
officials let the men work when
they see fit and la^ them off when
they see fit without pay. The men
are compelled to stay in filthy bunk
houses while laying off. If a man
wishes to quit they refer him to this
fake contract and absolutely refuse
to give him his time or transporta-
tion to where he came from. If a
man speaks for his rights he is dis-
charged and taken from the prem-
ises and if caught on the premises
again is arrested and fined. In re-
gard to the eating, well it is rotten,
tho meat is without a doubt not fit
for a dog to eat.
We, the undersigned strike break-
ers, employed by the Oregon short
Line at Ogden, beg all men looking
for employment not to accept a po-
sition on the Harriman system for
their own good, for this company
will give every man the worst of it.
There are one hundred or more
men willing to quit this strike In
the Ogden shops alone, but they
have not the means to get out of
town with.

Smith, Jos. McLospi, Victor Ander-
son, B. C. McDonald, B. F. Marrick

Can You
Cheat Yourself?
Good teeth enter into every smile and are a part of every
social or business appeal. They are the first point noted when

woman; the loss of a singe tooth will destroy the beauty of
the fairest belle in America. Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes saii
that dentistry "has established the reign of beauty; it has addel
charms to social intercourse and lent perfection to the accents
of eloquence." There might ao volumes written 011 this subject
but your mirror will give you sufficient food for reflection. The
question is, Can you afford to cheat yourself in Joint of beauty
