bitter attack upon Samuel l'ntermyer
in reply to the address made by the
latter laM night at the dinner of the
radicals liberals «*nd progressives,
who have been in conference here at
the call of Senator l^a Follette of
Wisconsin.
I ntermyer has been retained by the
American Federation of Labor in con-
nection with the impeachment pro-
ceedngs which have been instituted in
the House of Representatives against
Daugherty. The tenor of the remarks
made by L'ntermyer last night an At-
torney General Uaugherty's reply
would appear to indicate that the pro-
ceedings will be marked by extreme
bitterness.
In his address last night L'ntermyer
characterized the Attorney General in
a ' man of the measure of the average
ward politician," and this brought
f .sharp retort from Daugherty, who said i
that it was not necessary for him to
•say anything about the characftr and
reputation of l'ntermyer, for these and j
bis activities are too well known to I
i the public to need comment on my
