There's Oil Under Us
Kvldcnce of the existence of oil
in this vicinity continually ooiues to
light, William pulton, who bought
Mia McOlung farm south of town,
reports that the water in one of the
wells is ao impregnated with oil that
the stock will not drink it, and Mr.
Pullan is so sure that there is petrol-
eum underlying his place that he
will take considerable stock should
a company be organized here.
The water from uianv of the wells
in aud around Jones Cltv shows
strong traces of oil, rendering much
of it unfit for use, and it is only a
question of time until a test well
will lie drilled to ascertain what is
underlying this section.
