The play, “Thank Heaven,
The Table’s Set,” will be giv
en in the Odd Fellows Hall
Friday night, Aug. 29. Ad-
mission will be 15c and 25c.

was a Shawnee visitor Tues-
day.
J. F. Only was in Shawnee
on business the first of the
week.
P'erol Fullerton is visiting

Teddy Harris and Frank
Work were in Shawnee the
first of the week to buy their
school books, but, owing t)
the fact that the school book
question in Oklahoma is in a
legal tangle at this time, they
were not able to get all the
books they needed at this time
and they will have to go back
some other time.
Mrs. Clias. Wright died
Sunday evening at 8:25 p. m.,
after many months of suffering
and she was buried on the fol-'
lowing day. She leaves a hus-
band and 2 children to mourn
her loss.
Mrs. Freeman is here from
Tecumseh, and she will spend
the winter at the Dr. Cullum
home.
Mrs. T. Williams is in Vin-
ita this week to visit her daugh
ter at that place.

daughter Edith, were Shawnee
visitor over Sunday.
J.'H, Ingram, upon his re-
: turn from Texas, handed the
| editor some peaches that he
j brought from that state, and
they were surely fine, and, if
all the fruit in Texas is as
these peaches were, then no
one can say that Texas hasn’t
got a fine fruit crop. The
peaches were of a fine flavor
and were highly at predated
by us.
Prof. Caudle had a little ac-
cident the other morning as he
was driving to his school. His
horse became frightened and
upset the buggy, nearly de-
molishing it, but the professor
did not mind a little tiling
like that. He simply extricat-
ed himself from the ruins of
the buggy and made the rest
of the trip on horseback.
H. A. Dolen and family,
