H. E. Windham. State Agent
for the American National In-
surance Co., informed us the
first of this week that he payed
to A. J. Blackwood a policy for
#2500 00 for the death of Henry
E. Blackwood, his son who was
accidently killed about three
W66k9 ago*
This makes over $26,000 worth
of policies that Windham has
payed in Seminole in the past
few years. He has stood first in
writing insurance for his comp-
in the state for several years,
and stood first in the United
States last year.
It pays to have your life insur-
ed, for you never can tell when
you may die. it makes no differ-
ence how much money you have,
you ought to have a policy in an
old line insurance company, it
heips the ones you leave behind,
and it helps the country.
Tpe News was informed the
latter part of last week, that Mr
J. P. Springfield would open up
a Dry Goods, Shoes and Ladies
and Gents Clothing store, in
Seminole in the next few days.
The store will be located in the
building formerly occupied ky
A. C. Polk resturant.
Mr. Springfield left the first of
this week for New York, where
he will buy the goods for the
store, he says that everything in
the store will be new and the
latest style that can be had.
When they get opened they in-
vite all to make them a visit.

Our community was made sad
on Monday evening of this week
by the death of one of our old
pioneer citizens, J. L Nichols.
Mr- Nichols came to this county
many years ago, and has been a
good citizens, and has always
boosted the country and commun
ity in which he lived, he was one
of our best farmers.
Mr. Nichols was liked by ever-
one and known by many people.
The funeral services was held
at his home northwest of Semi*
nole, Rev. Brown conducted the
services, Mr. Watkins made a
short talk. He was buried at
the Seminole Cemotary. A large
crowd was at the funeral, to pay
their last respects to their fellow
friend.
We closed our revival at Sand Creek
one week ago. There waa 24 saved, IT
sanctified, 13 received the babtism ot
the Holy Ghost and 14 babtized in wat-
er. We organized a Pentecostal Holi-
ness church with 25 members, and also
have a good Sunday school going,
Our anual camp meeting will begin
the 19th., half mile west of town.
Plenty of shade and water, everybody
invited to come and take a part and
feel at home. Rev. E. D. Reves of
Roanoke, Va., will do most of the
preaching. Come and hear him.
