CARE OF STORAGE
BATTERIES
The moat Important fact con-
cerning e storage battery Is that
It a an elect! o-ehemlcai apparatus
which begins to wear out as soon
as It la made. IT IS IN EX-
ACTLY THE SAME CLASS WITH
A TIRE, end sooner or later the
owner must purchase a new one,
how soon he will be obliged to
make a new purchase will be
largely determined by the care
given the battery. The Prunty
Storage Battery Service Station,
41? Weet Main, la ready to as-
sist you. They fire FREE In-
spectlon, advice and distilled
bad. but there was one drawback.
Printed on the bottle were the
words "Made In Pueblo," and
that was where the shoe stuck.
The dealers told the manufac-
turer they would be glad to
handle the water bottle, provid-
ing the words "Made in Pueblo"
were left .off!
The man from Pueblo had suf-
ficient regard for himself, his
product, and the place he came
from to give the dealers to
understand that If they wanted
to handle his water bottlo with
"Made In Pueblo” on It, he
would be very glad to have them
do so—but "Made In Pueblo"
was going to stay right where
It was.
We rejoice 1n the spirit of this
man from Pueblo, and to localize
the idea, hope that every manu-
facturer In Oklahoma will cul-
tivate enough independence to
stand for his own name, his pro-
duct, and , the place he comes
front.

The Oklahoma City Battery
Company now toasted st 602
North Broadway began business
nt 102 West Second Street about
three months ago. The business
of this enroern flourished to
such an extent that soon after
their entrance Into the Oklahoma
field they were compelled to find
larger quarters, and so we now
find them with a large sales and
display room In connection with
their workshop. Their new lo-
cation Is right In the heart of
the automobile district.
The proprietors of The Okla-
homa City Battery Company, E.
B. and S. D. Center, are both ex-
perienced batterymen. They both
graduated as electrical engineers
from the Bliss Electrical School
at Washington, D. C. After their
graduation each had two years
factory experience and then for
two years they were factory bat-
tery inspectors In ell the princi-
pal cities In the Southwest.
For several months before lo-
cating In Oklahoma City Messrs.
Center had been on the lookout
for a Willard Service Station.
After Investigating conditions In
all the Southwestern cities, they
finally came to the conclusion
that Oklahoma Cltr needed their
service* and their Judgment ha*
proven correct.
The Oklahoma City Battery
Company has the distribution of
the Willard Battery for Oklahoma
City and most of the state and
they are the official service sta-
llion for this vicinity. Willard
Service I* a real service. In the j
first place, the Willard Company)
will allow only the niott rompe
tent batterymen to distribute
their batteries. Their free ser-
vice Includes filling batteries
with distilled water, testing and
advice. The object of this ser-
vice Is to make batteries give
better service and last longer
Examination shows that fully
one-half the batteries arc ruined
thru abuse nnd not worn out
thru use. The Willard people
supply 85 per cent of the bat-
teries that go Into all the auto-
mobiles made today. About a
month ago thla company turned
ont their millionth battery.
The Oklahoma City Battery
Co. Is also preparing equipment
now which will allow them to
charge electric? cars and after the
first of the month they will have
the Westlnghouse 8tarter Service
station for Oklahoma City.
This company at present sells
new Willard Batteries, charges
and repairs old ones, keeps bat-
teries on hand for rental during
the repairing and recharging of
batteries and In fact does all
battery work except make new
ones. They will soon be In a
position to charge electric auto-
mobiles and will also handle a
complete stock of repairs for
Westlnghouse starting and light-
ing systems.
The company now handle#
practically all the battery busi-
ness tor the automobile dealer#
here and make all adjustments
for the Willard company.

There was a man In n certain town who thought he wn* wondrous wise,
Decided he would go In business and began to advertise:
Hut he got It In his "Noggin," to sell cheap goods would do.
And among the things be bought wss springs and mattresses toe,
Well, of course he tried to sell them to the people of the town,
And it wasn’t very long until he tried to sell tlnnm:
<’j wanted something good—goods that would stand the test.
It mattered not to him though It were the very best.
So Cy asked him If he kept, wild he wanted to “Takoma’*
Bed spring and a mattress t* at wae made In Oklahoma*
Bo Cy went away leaving him looking little pule.
For he knew his shoddy goo.ls hod made him lose a sale.
But things have changed since then, and now he laughs and rings.
For he keeps the”STAR BRAND" mattresses and the 8. A L. PATENT Springs,
For they are guaranteed, and m neat and made up right.
And when you go to bed on them, yon can sure sleep well all night.
Bo bear In mind when yon go to huy, and ask to see these brands.
And be sure that when you call for them, the dealer understands.
