It has been just six months since we bought
out the firm of Kennedy ® Gieber. Since
that time we have became acquainted with
most of people around Jones, and think you
know us for promptness in getting your repairs
and for keeping our word. That is the most re-
liable asset in our store. We have increased
our stock nearly double since we took charge,
and we shall continue to add to it to meet the
wants of our patrons. It is our aim to carry
what the customers wants. To keep our ex-
penses at the lowest mark, and our goods be-
low Oklahoma City retail prices. If we don’t
have what you waut in stock we will get it. In
repairs for all standard farm tools we can sup-
ply them in short order. We will carry a com-
plete line of Plows, Cultivators and farm tools,
and if we don’t happen to have what you want,
or the particular kind gear wanted, we will get
it for you if it can be had.

DR. PIGG ROBBED
IN ED.ViOND DEPOT
Edmond Sun: “Sunday night,
about 10 o’clock, while at the Santa
Fe depot, some thief stole Dr. 1’igg's
watch, valued at *0o. There was
quite a crowd at the depot, al times,
during the evening, and it is thought
the watcli was taken when there was
opportunity to crowd Dr. Pigg. The
watch was fastened to a chain, which
was broken when the watch was re-
moved from tbe pocket. Mr. Pigg
reported bis loss to Agent Peterson,
who notified Marshal Monahan. A
search of those in the depot when
the marshal arrived, failed to dis-
close the watch. It was the opinion
of the marshal that the watch had
been hidden by the thief.”
Over In Capitol Hill. Thomas P.
Donohue is having a store room and
a six-room flat put up. It is al-
ready built as far as the roof and
outside the open store front there is
not the sign of a door or window.
It was reported that Donohue was
having the building erected without
doors or windows because lie some
time ago read tbe idea of a famous
inventor, who claimed people would
be healthier if they left all openings
out of the houses and entering by
die roof or underground passages.
Carpenters at the building, however,
said the owner simply hadn’t decided
where lie wanted the windows lo-
cated, aud had told them to go a-
head and put the building up and he
would have them cut in later.

THINKS THE NEWS
HAS MADE GOOD
The Delphi [Ind. ] Journal, Con-
gressman Charles B. Landis old
paper, has the following to say con-
cerning The News: The Canadian
Valley News, of Jones, Okla., pub-
lished by Chester A. Keyes, one of
tlie best newspaper men in the states,
who several years ago resided at
Flora, shows signs of prosperity and
the Journal takes pleasure in writing
of its success. Jones is a town of
less than 1000 population and the
News is now issuing a daily that
would be a credit to a city. Since
leaving Indiana Mr. Keyes located at
Jones and has more than made good,
if this newspaper can be any judge of
his work.

RAIN FALL SHORT
DURING YEAR 1910
During the year 1010, but 17.27!
inches of rain fell in tbe state of
Oklahoma. This made a deficiency
for the year of 15.08 iiiches, which
is obtained hv finding the difference
between the mean average amount
and the amount for the year 1910.
The Greatest amount of rain during
the year fell during the month of
April when the precipitation was 4.31
inches, while the least was in Nov-
ember. That month showed only a
trace so small that it would not make
one-hundredth of an inch. The
average by months for the year was
1.42 inches.
The precipitation for the year was
less Hum that for any other year
since the weather bureau has been
established in Oklahoma City, ex-
cept in 1901, when there was but
15.74 inches. The record for No-
vember was tlie first month that the
rainfall was so small that, it could
not be computed.
