2 CONGRESSMEN FOR OKLAHOMA
Oklahoma City, Okla.—For the pur
pnae of securing a close-in site foi 'lie
location of the capitol building in Okla-
hoa.ni City, fifty real estate and other
business men held a meeting in the ut-
tioes of the Oklahoma City Land and
Development company Tuesday after-
noon, when donations of cash and land
valued at $766,000 were secured to W
cate the capitdl and other state build
iugs on Lincoln boulevard between
Sixteenth and Twenty third streets.
Although the proposition backed by
those v ho attended the meeting is not
quite ready to be submitted to the leg
islature. it was announced Tuesday
night that another meeting will he
held Wednesday afternoon for the
purpose of ~ ......
land iinil cash to at least $$2»000.0u0.
According to those who are advocating
the location of the capitol on Lincoln
boulevard, they expect -to secure sev-
eral other tracts of land In that vtoin

being put into tangible form and sub

1910 Census Will Add Two Members
to National Congress
Oklahoma City. Okla.—Despite the j
fact that Oklahoma has enjoyed four j
sessions of the legislature since state- !
hood, including the capital location ,
session now on at Oklahoma ( ity, the |
third legislature which convenes in
regular session Jan. 3 will be confront- |
cd by as muny momentous problems
as have worried the first and second
assemblies. Already many proposed
bills are being framed, and lines be-
ing run for various legislations.
Tlie redlstrietlng of the state eon-
gressionally and legislatively is alone
enough to keep a two-months session
busy. The 1910 census, Just out,
shows that Oklahoma has grown from
1,414,177 in 1907 to 1,657,155 In 1910,
an increase of 242.987. Without the
1910 census Oklahoma was entitled to
two more congressmen, and now may
he entitled to three, depending on the
basis to be fixed by congress for Mu-
new apportionment. The legislative
districts, senatorial and representa-
tive, also, will be rearranged and ap-
proximately 20 members added to the
lower house. The special session of
the second legislature, January-March,
1910. spent much time oil and finally
disagreed over a bill redlstrietlng the
stale for Judicial election, and this
matter will route up again in January.
The revenue laws will probably
gome in for more amending. Cover-
