Loyal .1. Miller vvbp is one of the
candidates on the Republican ticket
for judge of the district court for
Oklahoma anil Canadian counties, is
of'tlerman descent and was born in
Indiana 43 yi :irs ago.
Whm he was 13 years old his par-
ents moved to Ottawa. Kansas; eight
years later Mr. Miller'moved to Os-
borne. Kansas and begun the *t :dy
Of law in a law office. He learned
shorthand by studying alone at nights
ana was appointed court steno
grapher of thy fifteenth j rlicbil dis-
trict of Kansas, and filled this posi-
tion eight years. During all of this
time he kept up the study of law
under tt i rf that eotirt He
was admitted to the bar in 1893 and
practiced law at Osborne, Kansas.
He was elected county attorney of
Oshorm county and filled that office
ably.
In 1901 he moved with his family
to Hennessey, Oklahoma and prac-
ticed law there four years during a
part of which time he was city attor-
ney. In 19(i.-| he moved to Oklahoma
City where he still resides. In 1907
he was appointed by Judge Cotteral
as referee in bankruptcy for Okla-
homa and Canadian counties and hold
that position until November, 1909
when he resigned.
Mr. MiL.r is an able lawyer, fear-
less and conscientious. He is meth-
odical and systematic in his work.
He has a high ideal of the office of
judge- of the district court and Is pos-
sessed of a judicial temperament, all
of which vvoi id inane to the taxpay-
ers of f' i district a sound and safe
administration of Justice.
