Oklahoma City, Okla—Oklahoma
City College is the name of an iuati-
tion of higher learning for girls and
young women, which has been locat-
ed here by a commission of the Meth-
odist Episcopal church south. The
commission was in session all day
Thursday and until late Thursday
night. When they concluded their
labors a contract had .been signed ^be-
tween the College Park company and
representatives of the church, under
which the school is to be located on
section 21, just noth of Britton, a su-
burb of this city.
The company agrees to start the
new college off with $100,000 in cash,
1 000 city lots and a campus of 45
acres. In all it is conservatively fig-
ured that the school will begin oper-
ations with an endowment of not less
than $350,000, an amount almost un-
precedented for the original endow-
ment of such an institution, particular-
ly in the west.
Dr. X. L. Linebaugh was elected
superintendent and business manager.
He will have charge of the launching
and building of the college.

"There was a naughty fly biting him

Embarrassing.
Not only the houses of the Mex-

yours. If you express a sentiment
of approbation of anything, the own-

but he simply intends something fiat- j
tering, and you are therefore not ex-

fered to you. An amusing story is j
told of Sir Spencer St. John, the Eng- |

An individual, well known on the

won tiie bet: He whispered half an

after another, and it was decided that j
the bet had been fairly won.
