Independent Candidate for Prose-
cuting Attorney.
TO THE VOTERS OF THE COUNTY.
In announcing myself as an In-
dependent candidate for the of-
fice of County Attorney I desire
to state that I do* so irrespective
of party politics. . I come before
you as a resident and taxpayer
and one interested in the best
management of the affairs.of our
County, and I believe my views
are sufficiently well known to
need no further explanation on
my part. • . ■
I believe my old time friends
and. acquaintances will know the
motive that actuates, me in thus
coming before you, and to those
who do not know me, I simply
wish that you would, investigate
the present condition of our coun-
ty, and if,, after so doing, you
believe I am the man to improve
said condition,- and. you can con-
sistently support me, I shall fully
appreciate the same and, if elect-
ed, will strive in every way to
fulfill my oath of office and will
see that the laws of our territory
are upheld and enforsed, ever
giving “equal justice to all” and
granting “special privileges to
none.” Yours for law enforce-
ment.. .

The Rough Rider of the White
house has been tamed. Says the
Dallas News. President Roose-
velt used to hand out from the
White house a letter every morn-
ing before breakfast. He now
calls a cabinet meeting to “trim
off the rough edges’’ of one old
letter on which he has been at
work for two months. What is
the matter with the man ?
