WE ENTER UPON
ANOTHER YEAR
This week the Enterprise en-
ters on its fourth year!
Doesn’t seem iike this little
“kicker” has been in business
that long, does it?
But we recall, back in the
spring of 1911, when the Enter-
prise was launched on its journey
of toil and possible existence.
Two papers were already in the
field then and the Enterprise
was the third addition. But it
proved to be a lusty, kicking in-
fant and now has the field to it-
self.
And we are proud of the
achievement. Shouldn’t we be?
When the editor launched the
Enterprise he labored under dif-
ficulties of brief former exper-
ience in the newspaper business,
but the merchants have stood
loyally by us, and the paper is
now gaining a solid footing in
the journalistic world and enjoys
a prestige all its own.

DRILLING WILL
BEGMMONDAY
The Wanette Development Co.
will begin drilling Monday.
The remainder of the machine-
ry arrived this week. The boiler
and engine arrived Monday eve-
ning on the southbound local.
The driller stated early in the
week it was possible to begin
drilling Friday (today), but as
next Monday is the first day of
June it was deemed advisable to
use this day to begin operations.
The Wanette Development Co.
has worked hard and determin-
edly to bring about the present
conditions and it is with an equal
determination that the drilling
begins. The company in charge
of sinking the well have brought
to the public’s benefit many un-
developed fields and the contract
signed by this company will make
it to their interest to strike a
producing field and then it will
be a bonanza for everybody.
Keep oq the watch!
Don’t miss the new story.
