& S. Wiggins sold 125 head of'
yearling steers aad heifers at $15 per
head, he sold to a Kansas dealer.
Geo. Carr, of Stone has purchased
Mr. Airheart's ranch in Day county.
Consideration, $9,000.
Mr. Stennette of Coldwater, Kans,
made ns a call this week. Mr. Sten-
nette is looking up a location for a
horse ranch. He is the jewelryman
of Coldwater and may put in a busi-
ness in Woodward.
The recent rains an<f snow insures
an early grass crop.
W. R. Rose, of old Missouri, made
us a call last week. Mr. Rose has
just filed on SWJ, Sec. 25, Tp. 27, N.
R. 22, Wy Mr. Rose expects his son
and daughter in the near future, and
the rest of his family later on. Mr.
Rose's old address is Plano, Greene
County, Mo.
The St. Patrick’s ball was the
grandest ball of the season.
Judge 1. B. Lawhom and wife were
in town Saturday.
Jno. M. Pugh returned Sunday
from Guthrie, where he has been at-
tending the Legislature and looking
after political matters.
Fifty car loads of Russians have
located near Shattuck. No doubt the
water in Wolk Creek will smell like
Limberger from now on.
Harry Smith and family have moved
to Wichita on account of Mr. Smith’s
health. Commissioner Sam Nay has
moved into Mr. Smith’s house.
Last week some one threw a rock
through the back window of Mosby’s
saloon, at Curtis. The boys all
thought it was Mrs. Nation and took
to the canyons.
Ed. Roberts of Persimmon was in
town Wednesday.
0. T. Ferguson of Curtis, called at
this office Tuesday.
Jim Pearson has returned from
Greer county, where he has been on
business for several days.
R. E. Word, of Higgins, Texas,
was in Woodward, Thursday.
The recruiting officers will be in
Woodward soon, getting men for the
Phillipines.
According to the K. C. Star, ex-
Senator, Robt. Ray and Senator J. B.
Harrison, of Cheyenne, will form a
law partnership in the Kiowa and Co-
manche country.

Attorney Chas. Swiadall made a
business trip to Wichita and other
points this weak.
Dee Whitmore has just finished
putting a foundation nnder the Epis-
copal church.
B. Y. Cowherd is building a resi-
dence on the Marum and Garvey ad-
