Entered at the Fairview. Oklahoma. Postoffice

Gen. Gomez is now “viewing
with alarm.” He is apparently the
Bryan of Cuba.
While Mr, Shaw is out speech-
making, Mr. Fairbanks prefers to
let his woodpile speak for him.
Some men are born rich, some
achieve riches, and some get jobs
under their fathers in the life in-
surance office.
That Kansas man who forced his
wife to play the piano at 2 o’olook
in the morning mast have had an
awful grudge against the neigh-
bors.
Count Witte will probably go
down in history as the man who
saved the Russian bear from being
skinned after it had been lioked to
a standstill.
Another “infallible cure” for
consumption has been discovered.
These cures have been discovered
by everybody except sufferers from
consumption.
“The only trouble now to be
feared is that before long money
will be too plentiful,” says a New
York report. The public will re-
fuse to be scared.
When a man wants to change his
features so as to disguise himself,
instead of shaving off his mus-
tache, he should play a few games
in a football team.
That the beet trust should find
the various “counts” in the in-
dictment unsatisfactory is not sc
surprising. They were not pre
pared especially to please.
We have just received a comple-
mentary “press” tioket to the Texas
State Fair, at Dallas. This was
very kind of the management, but
as they unfortunately forgot to
send railroad transportation we are
blooked out.
The Mutual Life has paid Pres-
ident McCurdy and members of
his family something over $4,000,-
000 in salaries and commissions.
One purpose of the investigation
seems to be to show that “Violet
Jimmy Hyde” was a mere “piker”
at the insuntuoe game.
We heard a certain party grumble
about the dust lately. About a
month ago we heard the same party
grumble about the mud. We have
also heard the same party state they
expeoted to go to Heaven, but we
have never read or beard of a
grumblers department in the celes-
tial home.
Out of the Ramsey-Gould fight
we may learn some very interest-
ing facts in regard to the inner
workings of railroading. It will
be remembered that Messrs. Hyde
and Alexander at first only started
Out to have a pleasant little family
quarrel in which the publio was
not to be speoially interested.

Maybe the insurance magnates
will recognize that the situation is
really serious, now that Gov. Folk

A nephew of H. Gaseaway Davis
who has been working “incognito”
in the steel mines has disappeared .

some time to run for vice-president
