FOR GOOD ROADS
May 6tH
WHY?
FIRST- Because Bryan County will get 7 miles of hard-surfaced roads costing OXK MILLION ONE
Hl'NDHKD AND FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1140000.00). All of that money will be spent in Bry-
an County. About $(JOO.000 will be spent for labor. This will furnish work for everv man and team in the
( ounty and we should remember this will give the returned soldiers jobs.
PROPERTY NOT TAXABLE
SIOCOND IT WILL NOT RAISE YOUR TAXES ONE CENT. Because the mouev to pay for the bonds
and interest comes from the Income Tax. the Cross Production Tax on Oil and Oas and other Minerals
and the increased tax on automobiles. Remember the ame amount of monev will still be available for
our dirt roads as under the old law.
THIRD The money will be spent by a Commission composed of two Democrats and two Republicans
and the Governor assisted by a State Citizens' Committee of twenty and a committee of three from each
county under the direction and supervision of experienced and competent Government and State en-
gineers. FOURTH Government engineers will assist in the work and the V. S. Government has appropriated
and will appropriate an equal amount of money with the State of Oklahoma for the construction of good
mads as the bill provides for the Federal Aid.
BRYAN COUNTY COMMITTEE WILL OVER SEE WORK
FIFTH A committee of three Bryan County Citizens will be appointed to see that the contractors
meet the Government and State requirements for road building. This assures Bryan Countv getting full
value for the money spent in the county.
SIXTH Bryan County citizens will be relieved of the expenses of maintaining those hard-surfaced
roads in this county and the money and labor now spent on these roads will be used on other roads in this
i ounty. The roads to be built by this bond issue will be kept up by a special tax on the railroads tele-
phone and telegraph lines oil pipe lines and a Mnall tax on the real estate within three miles of the hard-
Mirfaced roads.
ROADS ARE A FREE GIFT
SEVENTH THIS IS THE ONLY WAY hy which we can gel a system of hard-surfaced roads and
these roads will be a gift of the State to the County. Are you willing to accept the gift?
EIGHTH Because these roads will serve a big majority of the people of Bryan County and. as our
people are not taxed for these roads they can if they want to. still vote bonds to build connecting roads
.mil can use the money now being spent on the routes of these hard-surfaced roads on the connecting
toads. In this way Bryan County will in a few years have a complete system of hard-surfaced roads ail
over the county.
THOMAS PLAN EXPOSED
NINTH Because the mttch-talked-of plan of Senator Thomas provides that each county must pay
one-third of the cost of these roads. Under the plan to be voted on May ;. the county doesn't pay- any
increased taxes for the roads. Under the Thomas plan the taxpayers would be forced to levy a tax upon
their lands horses cattle plows tools and other things. Under the present plan we will get the good
roads without levying this tax on our property.
TENTH Under the Thomas plan after we had voted bonds on our property for one-third of the
cost of the roads we would lack just that much of having the money we will have under the present
plan to put on the other roads of the county.
ELEVENTH AH of the 149 members of the Legislature except three after consideration and dis-
cussion of all roads measures presented to the Legislature voted "YES" for the plan to be voted upon by
you the Sixth day of Mav in preference to all others.

A Few Questions the Skeptical
Person Won't Answer
What is the New Dri-Kure Process?
Why has this process revolutionized the retreading
and rebuilding of tires?
Why is it so much better than the old method of re-
treading? We use the same process for Rebuilding Tires as the
manufacturers use in manufacturing tires.
The worn tire after going through this equipment
does not have its sidewalls ovcrcurcd or the beads injured
as by the old method of retreading one part of the tire is
not destroyed while the other part is being repaired as
only the part of the tire protected by thenew rubber is
subjected to the heat. This machinery is' equipped with
special cooling ends which prevents spongy places and
lap marks in the tire. Each tire is rebuilt with the very
lest repair material which has in no way been .subjected
to any heat or curing before.
NEW lHU-KUHE PROCESS DOES NOT AI1 EXCESS
WEIGHT TO TIKES BUT IMMJHLE MILEAGE
The new Dri-Kure. Process does not add weight to the
tire and is a great deal superior to the old method of ap-
plying tread-bands half-soles and redoubling (ires.
