Floyd Stoll was born in Ar-
kansas City, Kansas, October 6,
1897, and was 19 years, 3 months
to drill the well on the Snouffefc

curred. He thought, the fire was
out and after shaking down the
ashes put in paper, kindling and-
coal. He had been accustomed
to starting the fire with coal
oil and had a two gallon can of
oil fore that purpose. When he
was pouring the oil into the
'stove from the can, the can ex-
ploded, the bottom blowing out.
Oil saturated his clothing. lie
ran out into the yard, around
the house and back into the
front room, but before, the flames
were extinguished was critically
burned
Mrs Lockwood was in the pan-
try at the time of the explosion
and had to pass through the
flames in the kitchen to get out
of the house but. was not burn-
ed
The fiire department was called
but’the fire was op,t at the time
of their arrival
Dr Lockwood was at his of-
fice at the time of the explosion.
Stoll was taken to* the home of

Marjorie liruner, daughter of
Mr and Mrs W II Bruner of
Medford, to Harry Maxwell a
young lawyer of Tulsa
Miss Bruner is -one of Medford®
most accomplished girls. She
was reared in Grant County and
finished her education in the Pow
Cm School of Expression in Bos-
ton. An accomplished reader,
she has done lyiceurn and. chau-
tauqua work. For the past year
she has been in charge of the
expression department of the
Musical Art Institute of Oklaho-
ma City
Harry Maxwell was born in
Missouri, a son of Mr and Mrs
A W Maxwell. His father got
aboard the Roosevelt band wagon
though a former democrat, when
Missouri went republican in 1914.
He located at Lawton, Oklahoma,
published a daily paper and was
appointed receiver of the Law-
ton Land office. (Following
statehood he founded the Guth-
rie Daily Star which suspended
publication after the capital was
located at Oklahoma City. Mr
Maxwell is now a resident of
Oklahoma City
When the editor located in
Medford, Harry Maxwell suc-
ceeded him as secretary to Con-
gressman Bird McGuire. Later
he was secretary to Senator
Wadsworth of New York. While
engaged in this work in Wash-
ington he attended law school
at Georgetown University, grad-
