U. S. DECLARES WAR
AGAINST TURKEY
It has been almost impossible
for the United States to keep out
of war for the past two years.
Some of the people were for it
and others were for peace, but
there comes a time in all things
when patience ceases to be a vir-
tue and notwithstanding the fact
that we are supposed to he a
peaceful nation on Thursday the
people (who had the price) and
at the suggestion of President
Wilson and Governor Williams
declared war on the national bird,
the turkey, and so far as we have
been able to learn, completely ex-
terminated the enemy.
We have been conducting a war
on high prices ever since we came
to Dacoma and while there may
have never been any brilliant bat-
tles with a hurried retreat, yet
we have stayed in the trench and
kept up a steady fire at the high #
cost of living.
See us for Christmas candies
and fruits.

holds the business when it once
comes to the bank.
