port in the recent election and j taken on them. A big part of
the message deals with state in-
stituiions. Tne governor con-
tends that the state is cursed
with too great a number, there-
by impairing the efficiency of
them. He also recommends an
appropriation by the legislature
to build the capitol. The state
to accept the proposition offered
by Oklahoma City. He also sug-
gests tee abolition of a number
of offices in the state in order to
cut down the expenses. The
superior courts, the number of
legislators, the state printer
would all come under the gov-
ernor’s Jax. Fifty members of
the lower house insteod of ninty-
nine; twenty-five in the upper
house instead of forty-four, is
the governor’s suggestion.
also in the August primary.
I can realize the great respon-
sibility that is reposed in the
County Attorney of Osage County
and will attempt to conduct this
office in a manner that no citizen
in the county will regret having
supported me in the general
election.
It is true that our county gov-
ernment will be in the hands of
both the Republican and Demo-
crat office holders. While 1 am
a Democrat I believe it is the
duty of any officer, after being
elected by the people, to show
no favor in any respect, but for
all of us to work in harmony
| for the interest of the entire
county and to work to upbuild a
| greater and better county and I
I feel that the same spirit exists
I among the other county officers,
whom the good citizens have seen
! fit to elect to represent their in-
terest in the county. I wish to
state also that during my eam-
prign I made no promises in any
respect except to do my duty to
the best of my ability and I am
