As the bird law has expired,
we, the undersigned citizens,
northeast of Blair, in the Blair
and Warren townships, warn
and forbid you to shoot birds on r
our farms or on the public high- ^
ways around thereof. Take
heed to this warning and save
trouble. The quail is the farm-
ers’ friend and we must protect
them.

Take It if Good; If Not, Reject It
The panic that is now upon us may soon be over but, my opinion is that we will feel
the worst of it next spring and summer. So, look wise to paying your debts as best you
can for there will be a time when your credit will be worth more to you than money.
. Don,t set sore because your creditors want money. You don’t know the other
man s needs, and if it is a jusc debt it should be made satisfactory.
The man that is on the square can always get through the world with or without
money. Honesty is the best policy. The man who deals on these principles will* always
be on the safe side.
There will be no fear for the worthy customer. He will be able to get anything he
needs, so keep scratching and make ends meet if possible. If you can’t, go to the man
you owe; don’t wait for him to come to you and then curse him for coming. To let the
other man do the walking is poor policy some times.
We are receiving some new goods this week;
will be glad to see you and sell you your Christmas
goods. We will have nothing but staple stuff to sell
as we don’t think it a very good time for luxuries.
