| Jewelry Makes
| the Ideal
| Christmas Gift—
In every civilized nation of the globe Jewelry is rec-
j ognized as the ideal gift for relatives or close friends
at Christmas time. There is no real substitute—noth-
I ing that can take its place.
Make it JEWELRY this Christmas. Give some-
thing that will be both useful and ornamental, and yet
be an object of lasting pleasure to the recipient.
At our store you will find a carefully selected and
complete stock of Jewelry suitable for holiday remem-
brances. You can buy an expensive present, or one suit-
ed to the most modest purse. But whatever it is, is will
be the real article, and not an imitation. The only thing
“cheap” about this stock is the price at which we are sell-
ing it. The prices ARE low—very low.
The “once over” is all you will need to satisfy your
mind as to the advisability of “making it jewelry.”

SPOKI TO OTUDBNTB.
The speaker at chapel exercises on
Tuesday at the high school, wge Dr.
Witcher, wl)o spoke on “The Medical
Profession.” His talk was highly ap-
preciated by the student body.
It is the policy ot the school to have
speakers from the business men of
the city attend chapel exercises fre-
quently and give talks upon their vari-
ous business experiences of their kind
of business. This Is very beneficial
to the students and gives them some
idea as to what they wish to follow
for their choaen vocation. The busi-
ness men, of PawbuBka can do a great
deal to hfelp the young boys and girls
of today become better business men
and business women of to-morrow by
lending their influences in Just this
way. The musical treat at the audi-
torium Monday night was another way
to inspire the young hoys and girls.
It certainly waB inspiring to all and
no doubt much good will come from
the lyceum course that is being pre-
sented this year.

On Monday of this week, the eity
commissioners advertised for bide for
the construction ot a sewer disposal
plant and the installation ot engines
at the power plant. These improve-
ments were included in the recent
bond election for municipal improve-
ments. It |s Ukely that ihe sewer dis-
posal plant will be located at ihe east
edge of the city, the Lynn place being
considered the most favorable loca-
tion. The now engines to be inetall-
ed wilt take care of a large growth,
and Pawhuska will shortly be in an
excellent way, ao far as municipal im-
provements are concerned. This is
appreciated by everyone, for wo have
been seriously neglectful of our muni-
cipal plants for the past several years,
and people who have located here did
not reoeive the service they should.
