The News is a little disap-
pointed in a part of Thomas Law-
son's formula for knooking the
cold chills out of the Sttandard
Oil. When he proposes for ev-
erybody to sell their stooks and
in that way to unload on the
" System" at the present fictitious
prices may be all right but when
he proposes for every one to
withdraw their money from de-
posit from the trusts companies
and banks thus cutting the "Sys-
tem" off from their means of
maintaining pricts we believe
that he would start sucli a panic
in tho financial industrial and
business world that no power on
earth could save the country from
one of tho worst disasters that has
ever happened in this country's
history. Wo believe that Lawson
has unfolded a tale of as grand
and wholesale robbery as has
ever disgraced the history of any
cut throat financial organization
and we believe that by all aws
both human and divjnf that they
should havu a government con-
tract to serve tho State for life
within' thooonfinea' ojFfour walls
but wo can't endorse a.panic just
now in which every pno; would
be forced to suffer.
Let Standat d Oil suffer 'for its
own misdeeds but the rest of us
don't like the idea .of being made
a vicarious sacrifice for their
.deviltry.
