Oklahoma. Hoc k Island Ry. passes through oenter of
county north and south eaBt and weal; has 11 railroad
towns 9 inland towns ;IG1 school districts; 36 congress-
ional townships; 30 miles wide 48 milos long: no bond-
ed indebtedness; Washita river passes throngh center
of county from west to east with many tributary
streams lined with good timber; about 1-4 the soil
bottom land the remainder upland prairie: ninetyjper
cent of land suitable fox cultivation ; almost every 160
is enclosed and has house and barns; 44 rural mail car.-'1
rior routes and rural telephone in every neighborhood;
no fara further than 8 mileB from town or postoffice.
Caduo county i one of the best agricultural and fruit
growing counties in the state as evidence by winning
first premium at Oklnhoma Stato Fair. Also took a
number of first premiums at World's Vair. .St. Louis.
Under cultivation only elevn years it has made a phen-
omenal record this could not have been accomplished
without a rich soil and favoroble climate conditions
which are ideal in this county. The principal crops
aro wheat oats cotton con kHflr corn milo maize
melons canteloupes potatoes peanuts: fruit varieties:
apples peaches pears plums cherries urapos straw-
berries blackberries. fcHock raising was a profitable
business here many years before the opening nnd is
still carried on with great success; within fifty miles
of the packing plants of Oklahoma Oity farmer&market
their cattle hogs horses and mules at little cost of
transportatson. Tho farmers aro intelligent Industri-
ous contented and happy; labor on their farms during
the week visit thoir neighbors and atend church on
Sunday in their automobilos. Would'nt you like to
