The Creeping ot Rails
Do you know that railroad rails
creep? They do and on lines running
north and south the western rail
"creeps'' fister than the eastern rail
that is this strange movement of
the rail towards the south is more
marked in one rail than in the other
f
on the same trick. Furthermore it
has been noticed that on such a lino
tho eastern rails wear out the faster
Both of these points can be explained
by thi motion of tho earth as it turns
from the wett toword the east. Ev.
eryt lung that has free motion is
dragged after tho whirling globe;
every wind that blows and every tide
that moves feel the influence and a
train going north or south is pulled
over toward tho east and naturally
presses the esstern rail most heavily.
The western rail being reliovel of
Its sharevof weight "creeps" more
freely and quickly. It Is also noticed
that the wheels that run on the east-
ern rrij wear out first and one cannot
but think that this earth motion is
the true cause. Sel.

The Oklahoma compulsory sehool
law provide! that all children between
the ages of eight and lxteen shall
attend school at lenst five months
each year and the bonrd had decided to

A truant olllcor wns employed last
