I aoo we have quito a fow candidates
declared for the Democratic nomina-
tions which all have a right1 to do
and to get tho nomination if they can
honorably but no man has a right to
accuse his fellow Democrats of boirg
all criminals that do not sco fit to
support him. I look on all men as bo-
inn honest until I find them different
by a truo test.
Now this 18 only a primary and all
Domocrata have a right to tho choice
of men and not politics.
Thii is no tho to got up a family
fuss nor to be bidding for republican
voton in this race. Don't say hard
thingd about your opponents in tho
race. A family fuss is the worst to
get ovor. Wo will havo enough to do
hereafter to save our powder and keep
it dry for our common political enomy
without lotttnc them pat us on the
back and hiss us on to our fellow
Democrats ust like we wore bo many
curs. There is nothing that lowers
on official in my estimation more than
to pick up a brokon down republican
and starve out good reputublo demo
crats.
I havo had my political ear to tho
ground a good while olid have been
noting matters and things. All Demo
crats that mako the raco in tho con-
test for tho nomination should treat
their oppononts in such a way that
they could expect their and their
friend's support in the November elec-
tion. Don't accuse all men that don't
seo fit to support you as criminals.
I as an individual voter of Caddo
county am not in favor of any man
running to succeed himself. Thoy havo
had tho office 3 years and 2 months
and 2 years moro makes it C years and
2 months if elected and I fear that it
will not go wound; sco there aro oth
ers that would love to get their feot
under the pio counter and I fear that
with theso 5 year terms it will not
go around to all good men. Theso aro
only my viows partly.

We ngreo with Mr. Soard as to the
treatment all candidates should re-
coivo and would greatly deplore tho
fact if any candidates either to rover
his own misdeeds or to injuro oithcr
a Democratic candidate or official
Bhould think It necessary to curry fav-
or with tho opposition or allow hlm-
solvea to bo "hissed on" by thoso
whoso only motive is to croate discord
among tho Democrats.
As is well known to tho votors of
Caddo county a number of tho prcs
cnt incumoents made practically thrco
campaigns for tho offices they now
hold. In tho spring of 100G it did not
appear thpt a statehood bill could bo
passed and some of tho boys wcro in
tho fiold campaigning when they wero
notified that tho bill had passed. This
was almost clghtoin months before
tho election was finally hold. Then
two different dates were set for tho
primury which caused tho boys to
get in tho fiold a great deal sooner
than was really necessary but the
most impoitnnts feature of tho whole
campaign and lor which tho boys are
now entitled lo recoio consideration
was the valiant fight made for tho
constitution. It was not only an un-
usually long campaign but an un-
usually hard ono for tho boys really
made two campaigns one in thoir
own behalf and one against tho entire
hordo of carpetbaggers and thoir fol-
lowers in behalf of tho constitution.
Wo aro afe in making tho assertion
that tbo la3t campaign cost tho candi-
dates thrco times as much as the or-
dinary campaign. Never in tho history
of Caddo connty has there been a moro
thorough campaign than was Mils one
nu each candidato fully realized tho
fact that laying hie own personal in-
terests asldo the paramount Issuo
tho matter of vital importance to tho
Dcoplo was the adoption of tho Con-
stitution and for its adoption they
fought shoulder to shoulder over
ready and willing to defend each and
ovnry section of it whenever an op-
portunity was offered as thoy all
thought as did that peerless Demo
crat W. J. Bryan thnt it was tho
best Constitution over drafted and
nono have had reason to chango thoir
minds as it has stood tho test nl
though fired at from every Bido by
political enemies who have never lot
an opportunity pass to lombast and
criticize and their political friends
tho fodnral judges have come to
thoir rescue at every opportunity
trying to cut out any part of it that
safeguards tho peoples' interests.
However right must prevail and as
"no country is greater than it p. citi-
zens' time will provo that each sec-
tion will withstand ovory assault
made upon it and tho Constitution of
Oklahoma will Etand proven to tho
world as a document "of tho pooplo
by tho peoplo and for tho pooplo"
In conclusion wo would call tho at
tention of our readers to tho fact that
as truo Democracy advocates justice
to all the unusual circumstances at-
tending the last campaign must re
ceivo careful consideration; this in
connection with a careful roviow of
the official record cf each official
who seeks to succeed himself must
determine tho decision of tbevotets.

mittee appointed by the school
board. As it is not forthcoming
and we have the statement of a
member of the committee that
lhey will have no report to make
at this this we will utilize
this space for a few questions.
1. Is the report withheld be
cause it is impossible to straigh
ten out the clerk's books?
2. Would a detailed report
of conditions as discovered
prove the Democrat's conten-
tions in regard to school board
matters true?
y. Can it be that the opinion
of the auditing committee when
the facts were at last laid bare
is "unfit for publication?"
4. Would it show who got
the contract for supplying the
coal and who got the money
therefor?
5. Would it show to whom
the lumber contracts were
awarded and whose pockets the
money reached?
6. Would it show that the
clerk's salary had been praised
from $15 to $30 per month aft
er he was elected which is clear-
ly illegal?
7. Would it show whojwrote
all the insurance?
8. Would it show that a con-
dition of affairs exists in Ana-
darko whereby a common day
laborer with no commercial rat-
ing not engaged in any line of
business but taking his daily
wage irom a member ot the
school board can secure con-
tracts for mateial running into
the thousands of dollars?
9. Would it show that the
salary of certain teachers in the
school had been increased far
beyond the value of their ser-
vices? 10. Would it show that the
teachers in the city schools had
been hired by the old board al-
most a year before they are to
begin their new year's work
which opens months after the
new board begins operation?
11. Would it show that the
clerk's books are in such a con-
dition that it has been necessary
to call in aid from all sides to
straighten them out?
12. Wouldn't it show that
the treasurer's accounts balance
to a cent?
Again we ask why did the
auditing committee fail to make
a report? Why in. fact did two
of the three even fail to attend
last night's meeting of the
board and these two the two
who spent the greater part of
Sunday working on this matter?
