Our College.
The citizens of Anadarko aro
proud of our Commercial Collego
and whilo this is truo tho Demo-
crat feels liko it is not having tho
patronago that it should havo.
Wo should assist tho Collego in
every way possible and send
every student to it that can bo
induced to go. Work for .tho
College.
Tho immenso crops of Okla-
homa tho last year is attracting
tho attention of farmers all over
tho eastern states and is causing
a very heavy immigration to hor.
In a short time wo will rank with
any stato in tho union as an agri-
cultural state.
Tho Charity Union met yes-
terday afternoon with Mrs. Gar-
dner. Tho meeting next week
will bo with Mrs. Suo E. Caso of
Main stroet. A. full attendance
is especially requested as there
aro several worthy families in
town who aro obliged to ask
temporary medicine rent etc.
W. H. Divers of this city was
elected a mombervof tho new ex-
ecution committee 4 of tho non-
partisan single statehood organi-
zation at Oklahoma City last
Tuesday. This is a splendid se-
lection as Mr. Divers is an inde-
fatigable worker and always
fights to win.
Tho Democrat is just as anx-
ious to seo a school houso built on
block seven in tho north part of
tho city as it is to seo ono built
anywhere else. But wo want tho
school buildings built now and wo
want build in ers that will bo a
credit to our city. Thoso parties
who think tho Democrat is work-
ing against a school building on
tho north sido will by looking over
tho files of tho Democrat find
thoy aro mistaken. Wo havo
contended all tho time for good
school buildings wherever thoy
aro located.
When you hear of a now trust
and foel tho squeeze of tho rob-
bers it kind of makes you mad.
But you aro "easy." You pay
tho extortion say a few cuss
words and then go on and in time
forget it. What a howl went up
at tho extortion of tho school
book trust sometime ago and tho
boodling of tho school officers in
various places which was expos-
ed. But you don't hear any
moro about this trust now. Thero
aroothors coming on tho scono
of action ovory day and tho older
ones aro forgotten.' Tho trust
builders know this. Thoy don't
caro a rap for tho few swear words
of thoir victims it don't hurt.
Thoy know tho fools will soon
forgot it and look at othor trusts
as thoy march along in tho pro-
cession in front of thpm. Yes
I tho people aro "dead easy." No
king ever had a moro stupid sot
o subjects than the American
trusts.

Would it not bo a good idea to
subscribe for the Democrat and
send it to some friend in the east
or north? If you will do this the
population of our city will doublo
in tho noxtyear. Tho farmers of
tho cast and north havo only to
learn of Oklahoma and hor re-
sources and wonderful crops to
leave tho old states that havo
long winters drouths and Bhort
crops and como to a land of sun-
shino and flowers "flowing with
milk and honey."

manent secretary. W. W. Price

on permanent organization and
W. 1. Matheny was placed on tho
legislative committee. Speeches
wero mado by many prominont
men of both Territories and
great onhtusiasm provailed dur-
ing tho convention. It was tho
largest gathering ovor held in
either of the territories and if
Congress will listen to tho voico
of a majority of tho best citizens
from both territories thoy will
givo us singlo statehood and add
to tho Uuion ono of tho grandest
wealthiest and best states that
has over been admitted and tho
