The Democratic Party
The Winning Party
lb is a fact realized with
increasing satisfation in the
democratic party and with
alarm among the republi-
cans that tho political drift
is all in favor of tho doino-
;C.'ats. Aimdurko has been
fv-republican" town but is
.. vow actually democratic.
' Tiio vote at the primaries
showed this fact and the
party i gel ting stronger in
ilu city ovory day. Tho
couiiry is dt mocratic and
tho democrats are full of
ginger and cheer. If you
-will look at tho goodly num-
ber of them who have an-
nounced for oflice and then
look at the republican an-
nouncements in their papers
you will see more surely than
in any other way what the
politically! wise Jones really
think.
Now you youngstors who
are going to'east your first
vote you will throw that
vote away if you east it for
a republican candidate. (Jot

who is going to win why
back a loser?
The Constitution by the
Party of the People
Tho initiative and referen-

United States senators such

and a dozen other states.
In a way tho primary is but
referendum applied to the
election of oflieials. The
.j democratic doctrine is that
the governing power is in
'. the people whilo tho republi-
can doctrino is that govern-
ing power is above tho peo-
ple. Tho initiative and ref-
