ono of tho members are in favor
of tho insertion of tho Boparato
coach clauso in tho constitution.
During ilio sossion horo today

the liquor vuostion and it is said
that the members aro unitod in

Stating that "in order to leave
no doubt in the nigger's mind
what wo aro going to do to him
when we get untrammoled oppor
tunity" C. N. Haskell in tho
caucus tonight said that he will
offer tho following resolution in
the convention should it bo dooi-
ded to leave out tho "Jim Crow"
measure.
"Resolved That it iB the sense
of this body that separate coach-
es and waiting rooms bo required
for the negro race; that wo con-
sider this a legislative rather
than a constitutional question;
that statehood is tho all import
ant question to relievo our peo-
ple of tho embarassmont of Inter-
ior department rule; that there
is apparant gcod reasons to
doubt the proclamation of state-
hood if tho separate ooaoh and
waiting room provision is placed
in the oonstitution.
"Theroforo We do recommend
that tho legislature do by law ro-
quire all railroads of this state to
provide separate but equal coach-
es and waiting rooms for the ne-
gro race."

DOES
PAY?
Last night Fuller Bros in-
forinrd tho Democrat that
thoir cash sales since last
Thursday's advertisement
was inserted had pnssd the
$1000 mark and that they
have to fill up the big gaps
in their shelves at tho close
of each days business Very
well you say this a closing-
out sale. Fuller Bros are
auittmir business and aro
selling out any way to get
out. What hnnnonH in the
case of Fuller Bros. will not
happen in mine.
But let us see. Mr. M. D.
Miller whoso ad appears at
the top of this page informed
the Domocmt man this
morning that his sales yes
terday (and he was absent
from his store on jury ser
vice too) wore more than
200. Mr. Miller is not
closinir out his business at
all. Ho expects to remain
here in Anadarko in fact
ho intends to remain very
much hero. Mr. Miller's ad
is costing him something like
$G a month. A business of
$200 a day looks like a good
return on tho sum invested.
And yet some of our busi-
ness (?) men tell ns that ad
vertising does not pay.
Wildcat
Wildcat iB looated 5 miles west
and two north of Anadarko and

It is hoped tht the Hawthorno
Club entertainment given under
tho auspices of tho Philomathian
club not only because of the
merit of the performance beoause
tho net proooeds are to be uted
for tho oity library.
Como everybody. You aro
eettinir more than the worth in
the entertainment; you are get
ting more than your money's
worth in tho oity library whioh
will always be at your disposal
without cost to yourself. Don't

BAILEY CASE
Texas Senator To Ask Ousting
of Waters-Pierce Co
From Stnte
Austin. Tox. Feb. By a voto
of 15 to 11 tho Toxaa sonato to-
day discharged tho investigating
committeo whioh haB booninBoB-
sion several weoks looking into
oharges against United StatoB
Senator Joseph V- Bailey.
At 11 o'clock tho anti-Bailey
following offered a resolution in
structing tho commission not to
bring in a report at this timo but
to send a Bub-committeo to St.
Louis to seouro tho testimony of
II. Clay Piorco of tho WatorB-
Pieroo Oil company and to em
body such evidenco in its final
report.
Adhoronts of Senator Bailey
promptly offorod a substitute that
tho invoHtigatinc committeo bo
disohargod at onoo without mak-
ing a report and that Sonator
Bailey bo fully endorsed.
After a rather heated dobato
tho substitute resolution was
passod by a voto of 15 to 11
Mr. Bailey 'B'fr&mla contended
that every member of the legis-
lature aB well as tho publio was
fully acquainted with all tho do-
tails of tho evidence by reason of
its publication by tho daily press
and senate mombers could now
voto on the question in an intelli-
gent manner.
The most sensational featuro
of the debate was when Senator
Sontel said ho would introduoo a
resolution demanding the disbar-
mont of J. D. Johnson of St.
Louis attorney of the Waters-
pieroo and Standard Oil compan-
ies from pratioing in tho courtB
of tho state. Judgo Johnson ho
declared had admitted that ho
was in a conspiracy to make a
falso affidavit.
II 's resolution Mr. Sentol do-
olarod would includooi provision
for ousting tho Waters-Pierco
Oil company from tho Btato.
The Bailey matter will como up
in the house tomorrow.
