agents here aro to tho effect that the
city will bo without train service fo-
tho next twenty-four hours at least on
all ot the roads leading Into tho city.

from Madlll bearing tho Dallas News
Tho report gained currency that the
3led river (bridge north of Denisou
was washed away shortly after th
early morning Frisco nnd Katy trains
passed over.
The Ited river bridgo north of
Gainesville Is reported to bo about
foot ami n half out of plumb with
tracks about eight inches under wa
ter and tho river steadily rising at
the rnto of about n foot per hour
hence thero will bo no train servlco
over that lino either to tho south or
to the north. All wires along tho
Santa Fe north are down and It Is re
ported that tho tracks north of hero
in the Washita canyon aro about six
feet under wator.
Water from tho raging Washita has
backed up to wlthfn six foot of tho
depot at Herwyn. tho first 'station
north of here on that Hue. It is also
reported that the depot at l'urcell Is
about eight feet under water and a
conslde'nblo portion of the track
washed away. Tho Santa Fo used tho
precaution to place several cars of
rock on tho Hed river bridgo north of
Gainesville to if possible hold tho
bridgo nnd keep that structuro from
washing away.
There has been no trains elthor
way over the Santa Fe since Satur
da night about 10:35.
News was received at tho Uock Is-
land local olllce to tho effect that tho
tracks ou that line between Ilandolph
and Tishomingo nro seven feet under
water and a considerable portion of
the tra ik washed awny.
